CHAPTER THREE

Issac has been tutoring me in potions for the last two weeks but he hasn't been much help. So far all I've learnt is that Snape is a harsh teacher (which I already knew) and that Issac is also just passing this class. I don't really mind though because these tutor sessions never really were tutor sessions, just us talking and I guess (I hope) us becoming friends.
I sit with Issac and his few friends at break and lunch but I'm not allowed to sit with them during dinner or in full school meetings in the hall because we are different houses. When this happens I always end up sitting by myself, although I never really look alone because we are all crouded onto the table. But everyone around me knows I am because I'm not talking to anyone and no one talks to me.
One time I sat down next to a tall girl with mousey blond hair with darker highlights and brown eyes, she told me I couldn't sit with her and her friends then practically forced me to move.

Now though, I'm with Issac again and we are studying on the grass before our transformation test next lesson. Issac isn't in my transformation class but his mate Jessie, she's cool, not cool as in hip and trendy just nice and smart and easy to talk to. She helped me sudy for this transformation test and I'm truly greatful because she's one of the smartest in the class.

Transformations is probably one of my favourite classes so far, Professor McGonagall is a good teacher and I actually feel like I'm not too behind on the work.

The bell rings so me and Jessie give eachother a nervous glance because we are only now realising that the test is only 10 minutes away. We walk briskly to class so we can squeeze in a few more minutes of revision before the test starts. Walking in I can see everyone has had the same idea, already seated at their tables and going back over their notes. I take my seat next to a small girl called Lucy, also one of the smartest in the class and she knows it too. I get the feeling no one really likes her because she shows off how smart she can be.

As the teacher is handing out the tests I look over at Jessie and she sends me a encouraging smile. I can do this.

The test isn't too hard to start off with, asking questions on how you can turn certain creatures into other things such an rats to tea cups and why not others like fesants to chairs. For any one that's wondering the answer is because a fesant is not the compatible size and shape for a chair whereas the rat is the perfect size and weight for the tea cup.

Just after I've finished the first question someone barges into the lesson. When I look up I see the blond from my potions class and his face is all scrunched up with a look of anger. The Professor doesn't say anything, I suspect that she's just glad he's here and gets him to sit down quietly and start the test. I can't believe he's late to a test! And transformations is one of the most important classes!

I am leaving the class room after the test and I'm telling Jessie that I didn't find it too hard, she agreed. We get into a conversation about how Malfoy was late to class and she agreed with me, once again, that it was completely out of order.

For my next class I had the history of magic with Issac and his other good friend Samuel. He was nice enough but he seemed a bit off with me, not really wanting to talk or make conversation. I am unsure whether he's just shy or if he doesn't like me. He seems the shy type though, not too small but not tall either, his eyes are green and his hair a light brown which is almost blond at the ends as it flops down across his forehead.

In the history of magic the teacher let's us sit where we want so it's me on one end Issac in the middle and Samuel on the other side. History has always been boring, especially at normal school. I'd thought it would be more fun learning about magic history but I was wrong. The only good thing was that I was able to learn and pick up the facts quickly, and the teacher was pretty layed back so I could easily talk to Issac and Samuel all lesson (mostly Issac).

Right now Samuel was talking to Issac about something and I was just reading over my notes so I don't seem nosey. That is when Issac turned to me and said

"What about you Raelin?"
"hmm what?" I said looking up at him as I was caught of guard by the question.
Issac scoffs and said "are you coming to the game with us?"
"what like a football game?" I asked
"what?" Samuel said with a distasteful look on his face as he exchanged a look of confusion with Issac.
"football? No? Don't worry. What game?"
"the quidditch game" Samuel said a little aggressive and I could hear he was starting to get impatient with me and he went back to his work with a sigh.
Issac looked back at me sympatheticly and said
"sorry I hadn't thought about it before, you don't know what quidditch is do you?"
"no" I said with light shake of my head
"it's a wizard game, it's really fun! Samuel is on the Gryffindor team, he's the seeker and he's really good," at this Samuels cheeks turned slightly red but he didn't say anything, just sat there with his work "and I guess he can explain all the rules to you later if you like, because I'm not to sure on them myself, but we often go to watch the games together even when Sam's not playing 'cause he loves 'em"
"oh okay if you don't mind that is"
"no no it's no problem, it'll be fun" he reassures me and I hear Samuel scoff slightly from behind him but I just ignore it.

Walking out to the quidditch field I hear Samuel say its Ravenclaw against Slytherin and that it should be a good game. I ask Issac if Jessie is coming but he tells me she doesn't like quidditch and that she'd much rather be doing work. To be honest I'd much rather be with Jessie right now, Samuel keeps walking in front like he's mad or annoyed at something, I hope it's nothing to do with me or even, more importantly, Issac because those two seem really close and I wouldn't want them to stop being friends.

I notice the different coulors around the stadium, blue and green, I guess to represent the two houses that are playing. Walking up the stairs took a while and it took just as long to get a good place on the bleechers. I take in how big the arena is, I almost stop in amazement as I see the size of the field below.

"how are we supposed to see anything?" I ask, we must be at least 30 meters up, I think to myself and look down.
"oh yeah, that games on broomsticks, it's in the air" Issac explains
"yeah because it's entirely possible to through a ball though one of those hoops when your on the ground" Samuel says sarcasticly but not playfully, and points to the three big rings at the end of three long poles coming from the ground.
"basically, all you have to know is whoever gets the most points wins and to get points you have to get the ball in the rings - there's also the snitch and the other rules but you'll get the hang of it" Issac says kindly to me.
"okay" I say with a smile "how long does a game normally last?"
"until the snitch is caught, but that's not important"
I just nod hoping the game doesn't last forever.

Author's note : so this chapter is a bit of a filler to show Issac and Raelin becoming closer. However I'm so excited for the next chapter because there is some magor tea!
