RAELIN POV
It was Friday again and we were heading to the game. I was slightly surprised when Jessie joined us, said she wanted to see if I could find the boy from the hall way I was telling her about. Her interest and excitement in mystery boy took me by surprise.
"Jessie calm down!" I said with a blushing smile and she bounced excitedly on the balls of her feet. It was quite refreshing seeing her like this, instead of her usual, hard working, study machine self.
"What's going on?" Issac asked with an amused yet question smirk.
"oh nothing" I reply simply.
"NOTHING!" Jessie exclaimes, making Issac and Samuel jump. "Raelin here had a loving encounter with a boy the other day! - "
"it was NOT a loveing encounter" I challenge with a smile.
All she does is look at me with a face that says 'really'. She then rolls her eyes and says "All great love stories start with an awkward encounter Raelin" before turning back to Issac and Samuel to fill them in on the rest of the story.
"since when were you so into gossip and boys?" Samuel questions
"I'm not!" Jessie says a little offended as if it was a low she would never sink to. "it's simply reminds me of a romance novel and I just wanna help Raelin find this boy".
We all laugh a little and Jessie huffs before going on about what house this boy could of been in.
Me, Jessie and Issac start to climb the stairs to the stands while Samuel goes to get ready for the game.
*
We were on the stands. The game was Gryffindor against Hufflepuff.
The teams came out onto the pitch but I couldn't see them very well because they were so far away. Even when they flew into the air on their brooms it was still hard to make out their faces.
The game started and everyone cheered. I was standing in the Gryffindor stands with my friends but was internally screaming for Hufflepuff to win.
"Can you see him?" Jessie asks me eagerly.
I just laugh and turn to her "how do you expect me to find him in a crowd like this?" I mean come on. The whole school is here.
She huffs knowing I'm right. "Okay. But keep an eye out!"
I agree and turn back to watch the game.
*
I'm trying to watch the beaters because I feel like their to most important. I guess I'm wrong because the next thing I know everyone gasps when Samuel, the Gryffindor seeker, crashes into the ground.
Issac curses and there's a worried look on his face.
I ask what happened and Issac just rolls his eyes at me, mumbling that I should be paying more attention to seekers.
And he's right. I suddenly remember telling Malfoy that Hufflepuff had a great seeker. Geeze. I had no idea if our seeker was good. I just said that to piss him off.
As soon as Samuel is back in his broom and the games continues, I focus all my attention on the Hufflepuff seeker.
He zooms around in the air, sometimes Samuel is on his tail, sometimes it's the other way around and sometimes they are in completely different areas of the pitch.
About an hour later, the Hufflepuff seeker dived down and reached out in front of him. I could see Samuel trying to catch up to him, going as fast as he can to get to the snitch first.
The Hufflepuff seeker flys straight past us and I lean forward trying to get a better look. Samuel follows straight after and Issac shouts "GO ON SAM!".
The seeker turns to see Samuel right behind him and I see his face. My eyes widen. He speeds up, leans forward slightly and stretches his fingers out until he clutches the golden ball in his hands.
"AND CEDRIC DIGGORY HAS CAUGHT THE GOLDEN SNITCH! 150 POINTS TO HUFFLEPUFF MEANING HUFFLEPUFF HAVE WON THE GAME!!!"
I cheer as loud as the rest of my house. Except they are on the other side of the stand. Meaning all the disappointed Gryffindors turn to me and glare. Especially Issac who is giving me a look as if I had just betrayed him. Which I guess I had. Well, Samuel anyway. We were meant to be friends and I had completely ignored his accident and then celebrated his loss. Damn. no wonder he hates me.
At least now I know Hufflepuff do have a good seeker, meaning I most likely did piss Malfoy off that day. I take that as a win.
Cedric Diggory! It was a name I had heard before. But only as a floating whisper as I passed people in the corridor. I didn't know he was in my house or even on the quidditch team.
I turn away from Issac towards Jessie (she's not phased by the outcome of the game) and shake her arm.
"what!!?" she asks shaking me off her arm.
"I found him!" I whisper so Issac didn't hear. I get the feeling he wouldn't like to know or be very happy with what I'm about to say.
But that all goes out the window when Jessie shouts with excitement "YOU DID? WHO? WHAT? WHERE? WHO?"
She's a smart girl in the classroom but not so much outside, she clearly didn't get the vibe that I was trying to hide this from Issac. "ISSAC SHE FOUND Him! Who is it tell me pleaseee"
"I will if you shut up" I laugh and point him out "Him. The Hufflepuff seeker"
"CEDRIC DIGGORY!"
"CALM DOWNNN"
She giggles. Going on about how this is amazing as we walk away from the stands and down to meet Samuel.
Issac doesn't say anything as walk down the stairs and towards the tent where all the players will come out.
