chapter 1

I get out of the car it is my first day at the new school. I look at the ominous building in front of me. Pools of students are flooding in the building all wearing different outfits. Jess then punches me and i turn to look at her is she wearing the same thing same yesterday.

"What do you want now" I say sounding just as tired as i feel right now. We did not get time to sleep last night so me and Jess are pretty tired. 

"We are going to be late hurry up" She proceeds to push me and run into the building.

I look around at the four story building and sigh to myself. "It can't be that bad" I say and walk into the building. 

The building has brick walls and tiled floors. Not to mention the mass of students flooding the halls."Be social make some new friends" My dad would say on my first day of my new schools. How can i even start to make new friends after what happened last time....

I feel a hand grab me and pin me to a locker. "Hey you are new here right" the kid says.He is wearing a sweatshirt and jeans his hair is also slicked back. Looks like an eighth grader but whats his deal why pin me. 

"Yeah i'm new here why" I say back 

"Well you see there are two sides here at this school". he explains " There are those who like our leaders and those who don't" He grabs my shoulder harder than before. "Now i do not like the royals so i say you join my side ok ". 

"What if i say no and side with the royals". I say to him

"Then we fight right here right now" he says looking so proud, what is his power.

"What is your name" I say trying to buy time.

"Lester why" he says.

"Just ask-

"Get off the new kid please". A voice says "You know my rules you give the new kids one day of warm-up." The girl is wearing a blue jacket and jeans and her hair is in a pony-tail. 

"Hold the queen off while i teach this kid a lesson" Lester says he balls up his fist and launches it at me.

"Stop time" I say the room around me turning to black and white. I walk around for a few seconds looking at the situation. Finally I jab Lester in the gut a few times them wait and say "time resume".

Lester goes flying into the locker with a thud. i turn to look at the queen who has pieces of the floor floating around her. She them throws them at her attackers with a crack they fall to the ground. The attackers including Lester get up and run away.

"Are you ok" The queen asks me. Looks like she has telekinesis i scan her.

"Um yeah i think so how about you queen" i ask

"I am fine and i have a name you know" she says " My name is rose".

"Well nice to meet you rose" I say as the five minute bell rings.

"Hey what is your ability" Rose asks 

"um i just stopped time". I say 

"Meet me outside the school later we might have a position in the royals for you" Rose says walking off to what i assume is her first class. I should do the same right and maybe it won't be to bad today.

I walk into my first period class were we all introduce ourselves. Then our teacher makes us partner up with groups he picks ( i hate when teachers do that). I walk up to my assigned partner and look him up and down. He is wearing a white t-shirt and shorts his hair is brushed to the side.

"Hi my name is Jonah" i say 

"My name is jack nice to meet you Jonah" Jack says "Where did you move from."
