Her Dark Mind

Chapter V

After roughly 10 minutes of an awkwardly silent car ride, I spot the pack house in the distance, it's roof only just peeking over the trees. It's a beautiful house and very large as it holds 30 wolves but can hold up to 200 or even 300 if needed.

We pull into the driveway and park the car. I slowly slip out of the back right-hand door and follow behind my brother and father. As we reach the two large front doors my father knocks. Once...Twice, and the door opens.

An omega was at the door greeting us with a large, obviously fake, smile plastered on his lips, along with a few other omegas. My father, Zenix and I all walk through the threshold and towards the large room to the back of the six-story building.

We step into the room and grab our seats, after a few more minutes of guest's arriving, the meeting begins...

"Hello, my fellow wolves!" the alpha boomed across the room with a large, friendly smile, silencing all talk and murmurs. "I have called this meeting to discuss my son, Ace, and the role of alpha".

"As you all know I am getting old and Ace has been of age for a little over 4 months now. I have decided that now is the best time to present to him the role of Alpha!"

Everyone in the room suddenly gasped and a look of terror slid over my face...I knew what was coming.

"I would like to invite Ace up here with me". Ace stood from his seat and sauntered over to his fathers side. He looks so powerful next to his father, elegant yet terrifying. His majestic glowing eyes catching everyone's attention and keeping them there. Authority radiating off of his muscled, Greek-god like build.

"So" the alpha continued "Joaquin Ace, will you protect, respect, honour and cherish this proud pack that stands before you, a pack which was built off of the backs of our great ancestors. To maintain order and to continue our great legacy." It didn't really sound like a question.

"Yes, Alpha" Ace responded with confidence, his eyes held an unreadable emotion.

"Do you accept the position in becoming the new Alpha" again, it did not sound like a question.

"I do". Unflinching. Unmoving. 

"Good, son. Now, since you have obviously met your wolf the question is...have you met your mate?" His father questioned with amusement slipping from his tongue.

And at that moment, that very second the alpha let the words leave his mouth, Ace looked me dead in the eyes, his following words sending a pain like no other through me "I, Joaquin Ace, reject you, Jamilah Blackerst, as my mate" venom laced his tongue as he spat my name. Everyone in the room snapped their heads my way as my wolf whimpered inside me, our pain combining into one.

I can't think straight, everything feels like its going too fast and my minds gone foggy. 

I clear my throat as I attempt to collect myself, pushing my pain down as a wave of confidence rushes through me, anger flooding my senses overpowering my slow burning pain entirely.

No...I'm not gonna let him have the last laugh and I'm not gonna sit here while my wolf suffers. Standing up and holding my head high, straightening my back as I spoke for the first time in a flat but knowing tone, looking him dead in the eyes. Unwavering "I, Jamilah Blackerst, reject YOU, Joaquin Ace, as MY mate" he widens his eyes slightly as a few more shocked gasps echo throughout the room. I turn and stride out of the pack house not looking back once. Feeling a sense of strength I have never felt before and...

I love it.

After a while of letting what had happened sink in, I decide to pack my things and leave before anyone can send me away themselves, or come and kill me. If I have to leave I'm going to leave in my own way...stealing a car.

When my father and brother got back they had told me that as Aces first move as alpha, he's kicking me out. My soul. Fucking. Mate not only rejected me, but is also kicking me out? Good. Though I can't help but feel a little hurt, good memories reside here after all, from when I was a kid. 

Why did everything have to go so wrong, mum?

I've decided to let my anger out on his car. They have given me three days to pack and leave but nope, I'm going now, tonight, in their car. It's pretty flash, a black muscle car with leather interior. Fucking love muscle cars.

As it hit one in the morning I snuck out of my bedroom and crept downstairs as silently as I could. I decide to go out my back door as I noticed my dad is still up and is sitting in the lounge room, beer in one hand and the TV remote in the other.

I wish things could've been different.

I softly shut the back door after I had exited and begin my trek to the pack house.

I finally make it to the house and found the keys in the car and the door unlocked, the dumb fucks really think no ones ballsy enough to steal their car.

Well bitch, today ain't your day.

I quickly but silently slip into the car and slowly shut the door. Chucking my small clothes-filled bag into the passengers seat and slowly turned the key in the car's ignition. Praying no one woke up to the rumble of the engine as it purrs to life.

As I pull out of the driveway, I drive down the road towards the outskirts of their land. Once I hit the packs border I stop...Ace will feel the mate bond pull and twist telling him to go to me and telling me to stop. But I don't give two flying fucks and so I smash my foot to the pedal and speed straight through the border and I don't look back once.

That's when I hear his howl, in the far distance...his wolf howled for me but I do not stop, my wolf whimpered softly, however Nyx knew it's what needed to be done, I slammed my foot harder on the accelerator. I wouldn't stop until I reach the boarding school that they were going to send me to.

I am free, I am safe, I am finally away from them.

So this ones not very long but it is freshly updated now as well. Only have nine more to go through...haha...hah.. But then I can finally continue with the story, though I am going to change quite a bit on the later chapters I am going to be editing as I rushed them and it went in the wrong direction.
