I opened the door to see Chess standing there, with a pie in his hands? I quickly hid the bat behind my back.

"Chess, what are you doing here?" I said nervously

Then I heard someone call Chess' name. A woman and a man came up behind him. It was his parents.

"Hello!, Mr and Ms Foxworth long time no see." I said in the most happy tone I could find.

At first they looked confused. Did I look that different? Then Chess whispered something in there ears.

"Ooohhhh, we didn't recognize you at all Avrora. Long time no see!" Ms Foxworth said as she hugged me.

"Oh, its okay," I said giggling.

"Well, were your new neighbors.",said Mr Foxworth.

"N-neighbors?" I stuttered.

They just invited themselves in. Chess set the pie on the table.

"I didn't expect you to be our neighbor, what a small world.",said ms Foxworth laughingly.

"Where is your parents?"

"Oh..um. I live with my mom. My parents are divorced."

There expression changed.

"Oh, sorry."

"It's okay."

"And your mother?"

"She's on a business trip, most likely will be here In the next two weeks."

"Oh gosh. Are you okay here alone?",asked Mr Foxworth.

"Yah, I know how to take care if my self."

"Okay, if you need anything just ask."

"Thanks, I appreciate it."

"Well, we just came here to say hi..well we'll be going then."

They all walked out quickly, except Chess, he walked out slowly and lazily. I followed behind them to close the door. Chess went out to door and I was going to close it when he put his hand in the way of the door.

"What do you want?", I said annoyed.

"Your mascara is all over your face, I could tell you were crying Avy.", he said.

Then he just walked away, slowly with his hands in his pocket.
I locked the door and quickly ran to the bathroom. I looked in the mirror and my faced was messed up. Why didn't they tell me? I went to take a shower afterwards.

After the shower, I was out like a light. Crying really does take the energy out of you huh?

The next day

I woke up to the sound of my alarm at 6:30. I started to get ready and did my usual routine. I put my hair in a messy bun. Today was chilly, so I put my favorite black hoodie on and rode my skateboard to school.

When I arrived I still had 20 minutes to spare, so I decided to go to my bench under the oak tree. When I went there, I saw Chess with a girl. The same girl that was giving me a mad stare yesterday. She was giggling like a silly school girl, but Chess looked like he was annoyed. I walked over to them.

"What are you doing here?"

The girl looked at me. Her expression changed from giggly to killer.

"We are just sitting, like normal people.",she said in a nasty tone.

"Well, I was just leaving.", said Chess.

"Wait, Chess, were are you going?", said the girl as she followed behind him.
