Len

Lenka was out cold and blood was gushing out from her abdomen, soiling the dress she was wearing. I know she might die from that and I know the nearest hospital is about two hours away since this city is big. She might have not much time left judging from that wound.

“Tiana, can you heal her?” I asked. Since I knew she is an elemental, I was curious to know how much can her power hold up on her.

“I-I’ve never tried healing before. I can only delay the blood but that’s about it.” She told me and went to work.

I tried to look for other alternatives.

The only thing I can think of is one. But it was going to be risky.

“Len! I’m losing her too fast.”

Crap. That’s the only option I have.

“Pull her up to sit. Hurry.” I asked of her and she did what I asked of her.

She pulled Lenka up while she was holding her wound. I can still see blood flowing out but not as fast as earlier. That worried me more.

“Len, what are you going to do?” She asked.

“Bring Rin back and save Lenka. That the only option I have.” I told her but upon telling her, she was shocked to hear what I just said. She glared at me but looked down at Lenka.

“What will happen to Lenka?” She asked, worried of the girl.

“Rin will take over her body. She’ll remain as a mere fragment of her thought.” I answered.

“What?! Can’t they just merge to one?” She asked.

“No. I-I don’t know. I have never encountered this case before. I don’t even know who will wake up.” I honestly told her what I know and she glared at me. She was radiating a rage like a volcano. I wasn’t willing to burn just yet.

“Whatever! Save them both!” She cried and looked down at Lenka who was losing color from fair to ghostly white.

I did what she asked.

Kneeling down to her side, I swept aside her hair and I glanced at Titaia who look horrified upon knowing what I was about to do and looked away.

It has been a long time since I did this. Plunging my fangs against flesh, that is.

I opened my mouth where my fangs were protruding and without second though, bit her neck. She made no complain seeing that she was unconscious.

Instead of my sucking her blood, I injected my poison at her veins but the thought of her blood tempted me. I tried to take a small amount of her blood and the taste was…delicious. Like the best strawberries, apples, bananas, and oranges. It was refreshing.

I stopped myself before anything else would happen.

I moved away and wiped my mouth of the blood and observed Lenka for a few minutes.

Her color was coming back but she was sweating heavily and groaning in pain. I have witnessed this so many times but she made me cringe and look away.

“We have to get her somewhere safe. I don’t know why but if we stay longer, someone would get us.” Titaia said and asked me to carry Lenka while she secured the perimeter.
