White and Blue

Chapter 4

Morning came for too soon, four exhausted male turtles dragged themselves out of their beds before heading to the kitchen. Soon enough the elderly rat they called father and sensei came in the gentle tape of his walking staff on the stone floor seemed far louder than normal on everyone's tired ears.

As they prepared their breakfasts and sat down to eat the five mutants noticed they lacked the newest member of their team, Leo stood up and walked out of the kitchen heading to the main room only to see that Kat wasn't there. Her blanket was folded neatly with the pillow she used resting on top of it, the eldest male mutant looked around seeing her katanas weren't leaning against the couch like they were before he went to bed...panic began to set in but sounds from the dojo quickly melted that fear away.

Of course she'd be training, that was all the white masked turtle had known, fight to survive and if you don't fight you'll die. It was sad considering she's never had a family or friends before Leo found her in Central America.

It had taken a while for her to warm up to him, and even after months of fighting along side one another she still didn't fully trust him. It was only after a year of knowing her that she opened up to him about her past.

She told him she grew up in a small city somewhere in Europe, from the moment she would walk she had to fight for her life she was seen as a prize for gangs that littered the world many people wanted her in their 'collection'. As she grew older and got better at fighting she found a kind old man in Japan who vowed to protect her until he moved onto the next life.

Sadly he moved on faster than he had hoped, that old man was only with Kat for a little over 2 years before he died due to a heart attack. That was the only person the female turtle had ever called a friend, she left Japan shortly after that and lived her life running and fighting gang members all over the world. Then when she was 16 she met Leo in Central America who was the same age.

And so for 2 years they fought along side one another, she opened up and told her this story she called her life and he told her all about his family and the missions they had completed before he was sent on his training mission.

The blue clad turtle frowned softly as he remembered all the things he and Kat had been through, he was happy to have been able to meet her and fall in love with the white masked female but he wished it had been under better circumstances. With a sigh he walked to the dojo his brothers and sensei not far behind him having noticed that he had yet to return with the female mutant.

Low and behold there she was panting hard as she moved through yet another difficult kata, judging by how she moved fluidly through the different motions it was obvious that she had done it many times before now.

The blue banded turtle was the first to move into the dojo knowing that Katharine had noticed them open the door, he spoke in a gentle tone, "Kat...what are you doing?"

The female turtle didn't stop moving through the motions determined to finish the kata but she did reply, "What does it look like Leo," she did the final strike in the routine and turned to the male leader before continuing, "I'm training." Sapphire orbs rolled at his as he shook his head his voice was still soft and calm having dealt with the stubborn female many times before.

"I said today was for resting, training until you collapse is not resting." The white banded turtle was about to refute that statement but was cut off by Leonardo continuing to speak, "I understand you can't stay still and feel the need to train but just this once for me please just rest...you can train all you want tomorrow...alright."

The white clad female sighed and sheathed her katanas, she locked eyes with Leo before nodding. "Fine, I'll rest but tomorrow I'm going to train...and you get the honor of training with me," at this the eldest turtle groaned softly causing the female to smirk.
