Ross' POV

I know Max told me to give Adam some time, but I haven't seen Max in years. I want him to really feel at home here in Washington and I don't want him to wait. I could begin to feel the familiar stinging sensation of tears building up behind my eyes. I didn't want to cry but I couldn't help it. I turned to Adam looking for comfort, but when I looked at him I already felt worse.

Max's POV

From a few feet away I could already tell what Ross was thinking.

"Ross why don't you show me why I'm staying and we can talk about this later," I offered up as a suggestion hoping to ease his mood.

"Shut up Max," Ross said quietly but it felt like the words reverberated throughout the entire room and then inside me. I looked down at my feet and almost felt like crying myself.

Adam's POV

God Ross a little harsh don't you think. I could see Max from the corner of my eye look down at the floor and I felt my heart sink a bit. Ross continued to look at me and the whites of his eyes began to turn pink with the tears building up behind them.

I didn't know this means that much to him. I took his hand and pulled him in for a hug. I felt Ross shift in my arms and heard his release a light sob from my chest. I could feel the heat of his breath on my collarbone. I sighed "Okay Ross I have an idea."

Max's POV

Ross dethatched himself from Adam and looked up at him. Adam looked tired but he smiled at Ross which caused him to smile back. "If it's really that important to you then I think I may be able to work something out," Adam said with a smile. Ross shrieked and pounced on Adam causing him to take a few steps back so he wouldn't fall.

"Thank you, Adam, this means so much to me," Ross said giving him a peck on the cheek.

"It's no trouble Ross I love you and If you want to do this then I can make it happen," Adam said with a smile. Ross was bouncing on his heels in excitement and turned to me.

"Max are you excited for tonight it should be fun!" Ross asked me with bubbling excitement. I shifted from one foot to the other.

"I am Ross but you don't have to do this. I was just expecting to get acquainted with where I was living first," I said sheepishly. A moment of surprise quickly flashed across Ross' face but was quickly replaced with excitement once more.

"But I want to, Max, I want your first night here to be special I haven't seen you in years and I really want you to have a good time," Ross said to me. Behind him, Adam looked at me quizzically and his eyes darted between me and Ross.

"My day so far has been perfectly fine Ross," I said trying to refute the idea that I knew was already forming in Adam's mind. The best part was seeing you again. Ross sighed sarcastically and playfully punched my shoulder.

"Yeah but I want to make it even better," Ross said with a bit of a pout. I sighed internally I guess I can't get out of this one.

I smiled at him "Alright Ross I'll let you do this for me." His smile grew wider and he grabbed my hand which took me back.

"Come on let me show you around the office and then we can go home," He turned and started leading me further into the building. He didn't notice it but I did, that Adam had left while we were talking. We walked around the building and introduced me to everyone. He showed me where I would be working and his small room where he would be recording.

Finally, before we left we stopped by Adam's office. Ross knocked on the door and opened it entering Adam's office.

"Hey what brings you back here," Adam asked, "is it because of my devilishly good looks?" Ross laughed and Adam flipped his hair around trying to put on a show for Ross.

"Adam you are very good looking but that is not why we are here," Ross said.

"We came by to let you know we are heading out and are taking the rest of the day off, " Ross explained to Adam. Adam listened but I could tell his heart wasn't in it cause he seemed very distracted. When Ross finished Adam got up from his chair and gave Ross a quick hug looking at me the entire time he was hugging which made me slightly uncomfortable.

"Before you leave Ross the party is going to start at 8 so you can just bring Max there from your place," He said to Ross not looking at me at all.

"Okay, Adam see you tonight. I love you," Ross said as he turned to leave the office. Ross left and I quickly followed him. As I was leaving I couldn't help but feeling that Adam was studying me the entire time.

"Max lets go I wanna get home so I can get ready for the party," Ross called from the other side of the open atrium the held everybody's recording booths.

"Coming Ross," I shouted in response and raced to catch up with him as he headed to the car.
