It has been five days, three hours, and twenty seven minutes since Virgil has entered his room and not emerged. And Logan is beginning to get worried. He’s sure the others would be worried, too, but Roman is currently in a fight with his brother, Patton is helping Thomas with a video, and Deceit is doing who knows what.

He takes a deep breath before knocking on his friend’s door. “Virgil? May I come in?”

Silence. He leans forward, trying to hear something from the other side of the door. Nothing. “Virgil, can I come in?” Still nothing.

With great hesitation, he slowly turns the doorknob and creaks the door open. “Virgil? Are you in here?”

The tiniest sound. A quiet sob, muffled by a pillow. Logan opens the door more to see him curled up on his bed, sobbing. His face is buried in a pillow, and his shoulders shake with each sob.

For a moment, Logan doesn’t know what to do. He is not very good with feelings. But he has to do something.

“Virgil? Is everything alright?”

“Go away,” he groans, pulling the pillow closer to himself. “There’s nothing you can do to help, Patton.”

“Um, it’s Logan, not Patton.”

Virgil lifts his head up just slightly. Logan can see one bloodshot eye, tears on his face, and his smeared eyeshadow. “Logan? What are you doing here?”

“I am worried about you,” he says honestly. “You’ve been in there for way too long. What seems to be the problem?”

“I’d rather not talk about it,” he says, rolling over to face the wall.

After a few seconds of internal debate, he walks forward and sits on the edge of his bed. “Okay, then do not talk about it. Is there anything I can do to help?”

He just shrugs, not looking up at him.

“Have you eaten anything?”

He shakes his head.

“I have a spare jar of Crofters with me right now if you want some.”

Virgil pokes his head out of his pillow. “You’re offering me Crofters?”

“Of course. You need to eat.”

“But you love Crofters and attack Roman every time he tries to take it.”

“That is because he tries to take it. In this case, I am offering it. Now, do you want it or not?”

Virgil sits up. “Yeah, I kinda do.”

Logan pulls a small jar out of his pocket along with a spoon. He hands it over to Virgil, who begins to eat it.

“Is there anything else I can do?” Logan asks, wanting to help in any way he can.

He shrugs. “Not that I can think of.”

Logan gets the sudden urge to pull him into a hug. He wants to hold him tight and comfort him and watch movies together and cuddle him and just be with him.

And in that moment he realizes he might have a crush on Virgil. All the facts add up. He’s felt this way in the past. But something about this moment solidifies that thought.

“Thanks, Lo. For the Crofters and the comfort.”

He smiles, liking the little nickname Virgil just gave him. “No problem. And if there is anything else I can do, just let me know.”

They fall into silence, gazing at each other. Logan reaches forward and wipes a tear off Virgil’s face. “Everything will be fine. I promise.” He pulls his hand away slowly, his fingers lingering on his face for a second longer than necessary.

They’re still staring at each other, the air between them charged. Virgil looks away first. He clears his throat and says, “I think I’m okay now. You can go if you want.”

“Do you want to watch a movie?” Logan asks suddenly. Then he suddenly grows nervous. “I mean, it doesn’t have to be now, we can do it later, if you want, or not at all.”

Virgil shrugs, a tiny smile on his face. “Sure. We can watch something now.”

Logan can’t help but think that this might be the beginning of something.
