Deceit liked me. That was no secret. Deceit would “check-in” on me a lot. It could be a quick “hello” and “goodbye,” or it could be full on flirting. I didn’t tell the other sides, but that was a big mistake.

I hate to admit it, but I liked it. Not Deceit, of course, but the flirting. I would love to have someone who would just sit and be lovey-dovey with, but not Deceit! Anyone but Deceit!

The last time it happened was last night. Patton, Logan, Virgil, and I was on the couch watching “The Nightmare Before Christmas” when Deceit decided to “grace” us with his presence. He looked to Virgil then to me, not batting an eye at Patton it Logan, and stayed transfixed on me for some time.

”Roman, can I speak with you for a moment?” He has his eyes focused on mine as if they were diamonds to him.

”Um, sure? Guys, I’ll be right back,” they all nodded and I got up and traveled to the kitchen.

”Now what do you want, Deceit? I was having a glorious time watching TV before you showed up!”

”Oh, Roman. I simply want you.” He said it was if he meant it, but he always has been a good liar.

”Deceit, I’m sorry but I think you need to leave.”

”Come on, Ro. I just want to-“

”Please leave. And don’t call me ‘Ro’”

”Okay...” He seemed genuinely disappointed, but what can I do about that? I can’t say I love him when I don’t! He’s just so devilish, so manipulative, so- so- so good. He knows exactly how to flirt with me. He makes me feel so good about myself, but he’s evil! Right?

I need to talk to someone about this. If I don’t it will get out of hand, and I may end up in a relationship with Deceit if I can’t have someone convince me he’s evil.

Logan? No, he doesn’t understand love, or emotions in general. Patton? No, he would make a big fuss over it. Maybe even encourage it, give him a chance and all that. Maybe I could go to Thomas? No, what would be able to do about it. He just realized Deceit was apart of him not to long ago. So that leaves Virgil. I honestly can’t think of a way not to. He may freak out but he always does that. Okay! Tomorrow I go and talk to Virgil about Deceit.

When I went back to the living room, and Virgil was gone. I asked Logan and Patton about him and they said he was tired and went to bed. Now, I realize how stupid I was. The Nightmare Before Christmas was Virgil’s favorite movie, he wouldn’t have missed it for the world. I was a moron for not noticing.

It’s the next day and Virgil still hasn’t come out of his room. I thought he just slept in like always but this was getting out of hand. He didn’t show up for breakfast, missed a Steve Universe marathon, and was refusing to eat lunch with us. We were all worried.

”Roman, maybe you could try to talk to him? He did answer me or Logan. Maybe he’ll answer you?”

”I-I don’t know, Pat. Virgil and I don’t... always get along. Our outlook on each other isn’t the best-“
