I Can't Wait Anymore

Dark just got done telling us what his father did to him. I can't believe he would do that to Dark, his own son.

"So your father has the ability to trap you inside your mind?" I asked.

"It's not really like that..." He replied, rubbing the back of his neck. "You see, he uses torture to reduce his victims to something weaker than they are. I'm not really sure what happens after that though, it's all a blur. Somehow he causes his victims to be tormented by their inner demons."

"I see... About the inner demons thing though, is that what was bothering you when I found you? It didn't look all that scary to me."

"Most likely. It probably didn't look scary to you because you didn't know what it was showing me."

"What was it showing you?"

"I'd rather not say..."

"That's okay." Anti chimed in. "I say we just move on from this, it's over now. We got Dark back and that's all that matters."

"Yeah, but what do we do now?" I asked.

"Do what we usually do." Dark said. "It'll be better that way."

"Okay."

~Time Skip~

Dark's P.O.V

I sat in my room and thought about Y/n. She rescued me, which I'm grateful for, but something was bothering me. I felt quite lonely. I wanted her by my side, but I didn't want her to just go to Anti the next day. The thing is, I'm sick of sharing. The past few months have been miserable and I just want all of this to be over with too. Neither Anti or myself have brought up this topic to her in a very long time. She has to choose eventually. She can't have both of us. I want to leave this place with her. I know Anti and I have been friends since forever and that we agreed to still live together after she chose, but Anti's jealousy would get in the way of our relationship if she chooses me. I'm sick of being in the same old boring place, but I'm afraid to even mention this topic. Is it too soon? Am I being too pushy? I just got back from months of torture, so is it really too much to ask? Maybe I'll talk to Anti about it. I got up and walked out of my room, heading to Anti's. I knocked on his door, but there wasn't an answer. I decided to walk in and even then there was no sign of anyone being in there. I was going to check downstairs until I heard giggling from Y/n's room. Her door was open so I walked towards it. I stood in the doorway as I watched her and Anti have a good time. They seem a bit closer than before. Maybe it's just me, but even if they are I can't blame them. I've been gone for a while, but I can't help feeling left out. Y/n hasn't talked to me much since I came back and neither has Anti. I feel so alone...

"Hey Anti, can I talk to you for a bit?" I asked, causing them to look at me and stop what they're doing.

"Sure. I'll be back Y/n."

"Okay." She replied with a smile.

I walked away from the room and towards my own. Anti trailed behind me and I opened my door for him so he could enter first. I shut the door behind us and motioned for him to sit with me on my bed.

"What do you need Dark?" Anti asked.

"It's about Y/n..."

"What about her?"

"Do you think?... Do you think it's been enough time for her to choose now?"

"Oh, this is what you needed to talk about. Honestly, I think we've given her plenty of time, but I didn't want to rush her."

"Yeah, but she hasn't mentioned a single thing about it. What if she forgot?"

"I don't think she did."

"Hmm..."

"What caused you to bring this up with me anyway? We've never really talked about this together until now."

"With the way I'm feeling right now, I need her to choose. If she doesn't, I might end up leaving..."

"You never bring up your emotions to me..." He said softly. "Dark, are you okay?"

"I'm fine Anti, I'm fine..."

It went silent for a few minutes and I didn't know what to say. All I want is for her to choose, is that so bad? Then, Anti did something that he hasn't done in years. He pulled me into a hug and I didn't know how to react. I hesitated on hugging him back, but I did it. He still had a pretty thin body.

"Dark, listen to me. Whatever you are going through or are feeling will be okay. It won't always be like that. I can't say I understand since I don't know what you're going through, but I'm always here for you. We can ask Y/n to choose now too. I believe she's ready."

"Okay..."

He stopped hugging me and we pulled away from each other. He gave me a soft smile before standing up.

"Well, lets go talk to Y/n."

Y/n's P.O.V

I sat in my bedroom waiting for Anti to return. We were just playing a card game, but we were having a lot of fun, especially because we weren't busy worrying about Dark. When he returned, he wasn't alone. He had Dark with him, which was fine since he could play with us too, but their serious expressions made me think that they weren't here to play.

"Y/n, will you join us downstairs?" Dark said.

"Y-Yeah... Why though? Did I do something wrong?"

"You didn't do anything wrong." He said with a smile. "Just follow us."

I stood up and followed them downstairs. No one talked the whole time and it worried me a little. When we entered the Living room they told me to sit on the couch, so I did. Then, they stood in front of me.

"We need to talk about something that hasn't been talked about in a while." Anti said.

"Like what?"

"Y/n, you need to choose." Dark said. "We've given you enough time and we can't wait any longer. I don't want to live without you and neither does Anti, but we have to move this along. Our lives can't be put on hold anymore. We want to move forward."

I stared at them not knowing what to say. They want me to choose, but I haven't even thought about it in a long time. By the looks on their faces I knew I wasn't going to get more time. It's been so long since the topic came up that I just forgot about trying to decide who I like more. I don't know how to choose or who I want to choose. Someone is going to be left heartbroken and it'll be all my fault. I don't have the choice to not choose. I have to do this.

"Well Y/n? We're waiting."

"I uh, haven't given it m-much thought..." I said quietly.

They sighed and then looked at each other, almost looking like they were reading each other's thoughts.

"Okay, here's the deal. We'll give you an hour and a half to decide. Meet us in this very spot when your time is up." Anti said.

"Thank you!"

"No problem."

They went back upstairs and I felt my heart sink in my chest. I have to choose one over the other...
