Ciera
Halloween was turning out to be the worst day ever.
I didn't go to school today because I was feeling sick. I stayed in bed all day. Camila said she would stay but I told her she couldn't because she would miss her classes. She had reluctantly left.
It was hours later now, and I still didn't feel better. Rosalie wanted to know if I wanted to see her Eeyore costume and I had said yes. So I was currently waiting for her in my room. "Can I come in?" I heard her ask.
"Yep. Hurry up. I want to see how cute you look." Rosalie walked in with an adorable onesie of her respective character. It looked high quality. Better than any other onesie I had seen. "I know you didn't go to a normal costume shop."
"I have my ways," she answered, spinning around. "Sophie's going as Winnie the Pooh, Logan is Tigger, and Cameron is Piglet." Literal squad goals. That would be me tonight if my body hadn't decided to turn against me.
Traitor.
"Will you bring me back candy?" I baited.
"Sure. I don't even like candy that much. It's just fun wearing a costume. I hope you feel better, Ciera." She gave me an apologetic look before leaving my room.
Unfortunately, I was going to miss that Halloween party. Now I would have to find a way to tell Theo I wasn't going with him.
"Theo!" I yelled.
"Yeah?" he responded, poking his head through the doorframe.
"I'm sorry, but I can't go to the party with you." I waited for something. Anything. But all he did was give me a sad smile.
"I know. I didn't expect you to. Not in your condition."
"Well, have fun then. And bring me Twizzlers."
His face scrunched up. "You like Twizzlers?"
"Yes. But only the original flavor. Everything else licorice related sucks."
"It doesn't matter anyway. You really think I'm going to leave you here with you feeling sorry for yourself? I'm staying and giving you the Halloween experience right from your room." He swung the door closed and then it was so silent, you could hear a pin drop.
"Chérie, you have to knock!" He whined after a minute.
I groaned and reluctantly got out of bed with my crutches. I can't believe I'm doing this, I thought before knocking loudly on my door three times. Theo opened the door with his enchanting smile. "Trick or treat?" I mustered out slowly.
"Let me get you some candy!" Theo said. He reached to his side and when he faced me again I saw him holding a bowl of steaming hot soup.
"For me?" I asked even though it obviously was.
"This is your candy for tonight. Now get back in bed and let me take care of you." I walked back into my bed and put my pillows up against the headboard, before leaning against them. Theo got a tray and set the soup on top of it before putting it on my lap.
