Ciera

After my revelation, I couldn't stop thinking about Theo. His face just constantly clouded my mind. His black hair, his striking blue eyes, and how fucking screwed I was.

Like really screwed.

I couldn't like one of my friends! I had been through that before and did not want to suffer that awkwardness again.

Theo and I just became friends like three months ago and I had a freaking crush on him. It wasn't like I could avoid him either to get the feelings to die out. We lived in the same house.

I decided to let myself focus on homework instead. A distraction.

I opened my laptop and tried to write my essay for English. It was on the simple topic of something that interests us and I still hadn't come up with a subject. Half an hour later, my computer screen was still left with a blinking cursor.

"Whatcha doing?"

I nearly screamed at the voice that came out of nowhere.

"Rosalie, you can't just sneak up behind me like that!" I said.

"Sorry," she laughed. She was totally not sorry. "What are you doing?" she repeated.

"Writing an essay."

"Not your portfolio?"

"That's currently on pause."

"Well, what's this one about?"

"I don't know yet. I can't think of anything. The essay has to be about anything I'm interested in but know nothing about."

She paused for a moment, thinking. "What about modeling? You could ask Theo, he's done more shoots than me."

"I don't spend enough time with you, Rosalie. How about you help me with my essay?" Also, because I wanted to avoid Theo.

"Really? Oh, okay." So she sat beside me and began talking.

About an hour later after Rosalie left I had organized everything she had taught me about life as a model. "How's your essay coming?" Theo asked. I nearly jumped. What was up with the Chastain siblings sneaking up on me? He was just standing in my doorway with his arms crossed. From my reaction, a ghost of a smile came across his lips.

"How long have you been standing there? Creep," I muttered. He chuckled under his breath. His laugh was deep, and his chest reverberated with it. How had I not realized until now how hot that was?

I felt like all my hormones had been awakened for the first time.

"I heard Rosalie helped you with your essay," he said.

"Yeah," I answered slowly, not really sure why he was asking me about this.

"She's really happy you asked. She said you're treating her like a sister and wasn't sure if you thought of her that way. Now she feels apart of the family."

"Aw, that's so sweet." He stood there for a few moments after my words and I refrained from asking why he was actually here. There was obviously something on his mind. But then his phone rang and our awkward interaction ended.

"Do you mind?" he asked. I shook my head. He answered the phone but didn't put it to his ear, telling me that it was FaceTime.

"Salut Maman, tu m'as manqué," he said. Kind of wish I had taken French right now. He looked at me and smiled. "It's my mom," he mouthed.

"Theo, j'ai une surprise. Assure toi de le dire á Rosalie plus tard."

"Bien sûr, c'est quoi? I'll be back," he said the last part to me, leaving my room. When Theo's presence was gone, I felt like I could breathe again. I didn't want to act weird around him, but I couldn't help it. Especially when he spoke French. His accent was hot and I didn't think he realized it.
