The doctor shakes me awake harshly. "You need to go upstairs quickly."
I blink for a moment then say with a yawn. "Did I get into trouble?"
"Not yet but I don't even stay here when Frederick wakes up he goes into a rage. He has bad flashback and they are worse when you put him under." The doctor say glancing at him while talking.
"Oh, then you go on he can't kill me anyway. I'll make sure your stuff doesn't get ruined." I say sleepily.
He kisses me on the forehead. "You're a saint too bad those times are long gone when saints were respected."
He rushes up the stairs leaving me alone with this corpse like person. My curiosity gets the best of me so I go over and poke the general. A hand reaches up and grabs my wrist almost to the point of breaking it. I do something even more impulsive and flick him on the nose.
His eyes flutter open after that and just stares at me for a moment. I sigh when his grip loosens but soon I am pinned to a wall. His warm breath makes me squirm wanting to get away from him. I should have just listen to the doctor.
"Who are you and what have you done with the doctor, you wince?" He asks in a slurred deep voice that's even more frightening than the master's.
"If you loosen up on my throat I would be able to tell you." I say gasping for air all the while. When he loosens slightly I take a deep breath and continue. "I am Allegra Felicity McLaren, a pleasure to meet you general. The doctor left because you go into rages after you wake up from being sedated but right now I'm sure you're the rationale general that you are and see that I mean no harm." I mumble the last part and tremble in fear.
He stares at me with cold calculating seafoam green eyes. "Very well." He says and drops me going to put on his shirt.
I drop to the floor. "Wait, you'll pull your stitches."
"So I am bandaged as well what does a couple of stitches matter I'm not fabric."He snaps at me.
I raise up and glare at him. "So help me if you pull out a stitch I will make sure you are locked up in a cell until you are completely healed. The doctor put in hard work not just for you to be careless."
He walks over to me and places a hand above my head his frame caging my body. "You must be master's new pet. He said you were feisty but I just thought he didn't show you how fearsome he can be. Even in fear you are rebel. Even so how do you suppose I get dressed if I can't pull out a stitch."
I gulp and slip under his arm grabbing his shirt. "Arms forward," I order. "I'm going to help you just this once okay then you'll have to figure it out without getting hurt."
He listens to me still staring me down making very nervous. He bends down a bit so I can reach over his head. The shirt is larger than his frame so it's a little easier to manage. I smile proudly when his shirt is finally on. My fear almost subsides until I hear a loud scream.
I'm shoved behind him and look to see that one of the experiments have escaped. It looks like it gnawed off its finger meat to make a key. My survival instincts kick in a lot quicker than I would thought possible a few months ago. I grab the sedation bottle and a needle not looking at the amount I get while it charges at me and the general. I hear him groan slightly when he gets into a fighting stance. Being smaller than him I slip under his arms and plunge the needle into the subject's neck. It almost immediately collapses all I can do now is hope I didn't just overdose it.
Still I am madder at the general I smack him on the arm. "I told you not to tear a stitch out don't make me put you in the same cell as this one. I don't know how I'm going to report this one."
He looks at me with anger then laughs a heartwarming laugh that fills the entire room. "Sorry, it's just you sound so much like a mother scolding it's child. I haven't been spoken to like that in years." He pats my head smiling slightly but still intimidating. "Don't worry I'll take care of myself from now on. However, first I'm going to put that guy in a cell."
I go to object but by the time I can open my mouth he slings the experiment across his shoulder then tosses it into of the sells locking it tightly. He just threw someone much bigger than me like no problem. He could have easily killed me or at least break me enough to be dead if it was possible. He looks backs at me and snickers like my reaction is humoring.
"Are you coming up with me? We got to tell the doctor what happen after all." He says striding up the stairs.
At the speed he's moving I'm almost out of breath. When we reach the elevator I allow myself to collapse and catch my breath. While I'm almost sweating the general seems completely calm like nothing happened. I am so out of shape not that it's not normal for me to be but it feels shameful when I'm next to him.
I glare at him for making me feel bad about myself. This is his fault in the first place if he didn't choke me I wouldn't have wasted breath. Okay, maybe that's a lie but somehow this is his fault for being in a better shape than me. I just never expected him to sprint up the stairs with such a heavy looking body.
He clears his throat then speaks. "I know that I'm handsome but you don't have to stare at me with that murderous intention in your eyes."
"Nervous?" I say looking away crossing my arms over my chest.
"Not really you're obviously in no shape to fight me and even if you were you couldn't do anything." He says nonchalantly.
I stand up and get right next to him where his line of sight is. "Why you overgrown little brat how dare you speak to a lady in such a way. I'll have you know that I used to make men like you sob in my profession." Then again a lot of people are afraid of needles he doesn't have to know I just draw on them though.
He points over and I notice the open door to where the master and the doctor are standing with shocked faces. I have a feeling that I'm in trouble and retreat behind the general. He might be the scariest person I've ever met but those to I know are more corrupted. He lets out another of those loud chuckles while staying in front of me like a guard.
"Master your pet has more bark than bite it seems but she can bite those who really frighten her." The general says with a lingering smirk. "Doctor one of your patience went wild and tried to attack us. She acted quickly enough and sedated them so you might want to watch for an overdose."
The doctor nods and goes to the second elevator while the master enters this one. The general moves back so that there's plenty of space for the master but I'm pinned in. The master looks between the two of us then shakes his head. I feel like I'm in awkward silence until the elevator stops once again.
The master walks out and so does the general but the general stops to say something. "it was nice to meet you little momma I'll have to speak with you again sometime." He said momma with a snicker of an insult.
