                           PART 1

In one of my previous chapters, I didn't mentioned some of the most famous cases of honor killings, acid attacks and sexual assault etc. So, I thought I will share how I even got to know about these cases and what happened in them etc. etc.
Now, many and by many I mean MANY people know about the famous oscar winning filmmaker and journalist Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy. This woman was one of the most widely known women rights activist. I used to think what her movie was about for which she won an oscar. Seriously I had no idea. Until one day on headlines they told that the movie was about acid attacks in Pakistan.
Now at that time I knew what were acid attacks and all stuff. But I had never actually watched or seen someone or a case being discussed. It usually just used to be a case which used to pop up in headlines and as soon as it used to come, my parents used to change the channel or something like that.
Well one day, not long ago, I was reading about the Nawaz family (I have no idea why the hell I was doing that) and during that all "reading" I searched Shehbaz Sharif. I went into the list of his wives. I saw a name, which I thought was a very special kind of name like a name tou could tell was of an actress or someone very famous. And that name was Tehmina Durrani. Now to be exact, at this time I was on wikipedia, so the picture which was on display was literally a picture of one of the most beautiful woman I have ever seen (Ofcourse now she is old but that pic of hers was quite old). I was shocked by her beauty, anyways I got into her wiki profile and was shocked to read the first thing. And that was a book she wrote on her previous husband. The book's name is "My Feudal Lord". I didn't read it but I did it searched about it and got to know a bit about the book.
Moving on, while I was reading her profile, there was one thing which was very evident and that was that she is a woman who has spoken on quite the most controversial topics in our society.
While reading her profile there was another thing which caught my attention and that was the mention of an acid attack in her profile.
So, what happened was that one of Ghulam Mustafa Khar's (the book my feudal lord is based on this man) son, Bilal Khar, attacked on his former wife, Fakhra Younus, with acid. This attack took place because she got a divorce from him.
Tehmina Durrani, was on of those few people who rushed to her in order to provide help. She was able to get a passport for Fakhra and was successful in deporting her from Pakistan.
Fakhra Younus settled in Italy. Over there many health care institutes were established in order to support her.
After this attack many movements happened but all was left in vain (now please note that this happened in 2001). In 2012, unfortunately Fakhra Younus committed suicide and was later buried in Karachi.
Now, let's go back to the beginning of this chapter. Where I talked about some movie made by Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy. That movie was actually inspired by the acid attack victim Fakhra Younus.
The movie's or film's title is "Saving Face". It's an amazing documentary film.
(Btw if you want to watch a good movie. I really recommend it to you)

The reason why I wrote this chapter was to not to give you a history lesson but to actually tell you that what happens in our society. And let me tell you one more thing, according to official sources more than 100 cases are reported every year of acid attacks in Pakistan but estimates far more due to lack of reporting.
