𝕒𝕝𝕞𝕠𝕤𝕥

everything was dark. all she could remember was waking up, then nothing at all. she didn't know where she was, couldn't even trace back to how she got here. all she knew was that she was alone.

she stood up slowly; for her legs ached and there was a relentless pulsing in her forehead. she tried to look around, in search of anything, anything at all, but could see nothing further than her outstretched hand. just nothingness. a place of endless dark.

chaeyoung's head whips to the side. noise. she doesn't know weather to laugh or be scared out of her mind. whatever that was, it was definitely human. it happens again and she's certain that's the sound of someone in pain. she knows she shouldn't, she's watched enough horror movies to know this isn't a good idea; but she follows the noise anyway. it gets louder, and somehow it's almost recognisable. she's running now. if the noise was coming from who she thinks it was she'd never forgive herself for ignoring it. she's so close. she can almost feel the persons whimpers on her skin.

"mina," she calls out into the dark, "is that you?"

everything goes silent, then her hand is being tugged at and she's enveloped in the sweet smell that is the girl. chaeyoung's hands find the girl's face instantly and she strokes mina's cheekbones with the pad of her thumb.
she can't see anything; but she feels how mina melts into her touch. she feels her breathing start to slow and she can almost see the stars the girl has in her eyes.

almost.

because something is wrong. something is very wrong. chaeyoung can see mina's face clearly now and those are not the eyes she knows. it looks as though the life has been drained from the girl's body and all chaeyoung can do is hold her hands. her face contorts in undeniable pain and a low groan escapes her lips.

"m-mina what's-"

the girl's body jerks back and her grip on chaeyoung's hand loosens.

"don't let go," mina pleads, "chaeyoung please."

the ground begins to shake and the floor starts to crumble beneath their feet.

"i won't. i promise you i won't"

chaeyoung was using all her strength now and she didn't know how much longer she could hold on. mina was dangling from her fingertips and it was taking everything in her not to let the girl go.

but it was too late.
and she breaks her promise.

"CHAEYOUNG"

𝟚𝟝𝕥𝕙 𝕞𝕒𝕣𝕔𝕙 𝟙𝟡𝟠𝟜

"CHAEYOUNG," the girl's eyes shoot open and she's shaking violently. mina hovers above her, a frantic look in her eyes as she tries her absolute hardest to bring the younger girl out of her slumber. she's in too much of a frenzy to even realise that chaeyoung's finally woken up.

"m-mina stop i'm awake"

the older girl's eyes widen and she lets out a huge sigh of relief, "oh my god. you wouldn't wake up. don't do that ever again, you scared the shit out of me," she says all too quickly, pouncing on the girl to give her a tight hug.
chaeyoung smiles, mina melts into her just like she did in the dream.

"are you okay?" mina asks quietly, pushing herself up from the bed, "in your sleep, well you looked like you were struggling," she sits next to chaeyoung and places her hand on top of the girl's, "what happened?"

"i-i can't really remember" she replies, "but i'm okay."
in all honesty chaeyoung couldn't actually remember much about her dream, and to be quite frank, she didn't want to. when she woke up all she'd felt was such pain, such loss that she didn't want to know what had caused it.
