1 - Crash

~ Jade's P.O.V ~

"Goodbye guys, I'll see you later!" I shouted to my parents before they drove off down the road. They were going to a restaurant for their anniversary so I was left alone in the house. I decided to order a take away and have a film night, I was always a sucker for Disney films. I chose to get a Chinese and had it delivered to my door. I sat down on the couch and began eating whilst watching 'The Lion King'.

*RING RING RING*

"Ahhhh!" I awoke to the sound of the phone ringing. I looked at the clock to see it was 1am. Ergh, who would be calling me this time in the morning?! I ran to the handset and picked it up.

"Hello?" I almost whispered into the handset.

"Hello this is London Hospital." A woman on the other end of the line said.

"I am awfully sorry to inform you that your parents, Mr and Mrs Summers have been brought into accident and emergency after a car crash. Can you make it in any time soon?"

That was the moment my entire world crumbled around me. Tears began to form in my eyes and pour down my cheeks. I can't lose them now, I'm only 19. I don't know what I'll do if they don't make it.

"I'll be right in." I said with a shaky voice.

- At the hospital -

I sat between the two beds that held my parents, clutching both of their hands in mine. They were both on life support and the doctors had told me it was highly unlikely that they would make it through the night. Silent tears fell down my face as I looked at the endless amount of tubes and wires surrounding their bodies.

"Excuse me, Miss Summers?" I heard one of the doctors say as he opened the door. "I'm afraid their is nothing more we can do for your parents, and prolonging this is doing neither them or you any favours. Would you consider turning their life support machines off?"

I looked at my parents and I knew he was right. There was no hope of them ever waking up again. I had to make the hardest decision I had ever made, and will ever make, in my life.

"Okay" I sobbed. I signed the consent forms and gave both of my parents a kiss. I told them I loved them and bid them farewell before the machines were turned off and my parents were gone. Forever.
