Firstly I am so very sorry for not updating, a close member of my family died just after I posted the last update, then I had a biology mock exam, a history mock exam and my actual Spanish GCSE (which I spent over 10 hours revising for). I have also been deprived of Wifi since the last update so it has been very difficult to update as you can imagine. Anyway, I'd like to thank you all very much for sticking by me the last few months and continuing to vote, comment and read. It really helps and I probably wouldn't be writing this update if it wasn't for you guys.
Secondly, I have started another story called; A Love Like Ours. It's an Elijah Mikaelson Fanfiction. I'd very much appreciate it if you could check it out. The first chapter has just been published.
Hope everyone had an amazing Christmas!

Attachment - The song is Comfort Me by Phildel. She's absolutely incredible so I highly recommend you check her out. I think the song goes really well with this chapter.

When I awoke, it was early morning. Jade soon began to stir beside me, groaning as she did so.
"How are you feeling, love?" I whispered.
"Not too good." She replied.
I gently got out of bed and proceeded to quietly make my way downstairs not wanting to wake anyone. I grabbed some painkillers and made a cup of coffee. I didn't want her to be hungover for the rest of the day so I bit my wrist and dripped a fair amount of my blood into the coffee and mixed it in. The painkillers are just a coverup. I know I'm going to have to tell her about what I am at some stage but I don't want to frighten her off just yet.
I quickly made my way upstairs with the coffee, a glass of water and painkillers and placed them on the bedside table beside Jade.
"Here, love. Take these, you'll soon feel better." I whispered with a smirk lingering on my lips.
She took the painkillers and then sat up in bed to finish the cup of coffee. Before long the colour began returning to her cheeks and her eyes regained the sparkle I was all too familiar with.
"Thank you." She smiled. "I've never recovered from a hangover so quickly." She chuckled, causing me to laugh along with her.
"Jade?" I asked nervously. I was still concerned over the fact she had gotten herself in such a state. "Why did you get so drunk yesterday?"
Her face showed so many emotions, she looked so pained and upset that I almost regretted asking.
She told me that it was her mother's birthday and that she got drunk in an attempt to take the pain away. By the time she finished, tears were streaming down her face. I immediately scooped her up in my arms and cradled her there whilst stroking her hair. After a while, she pulled away and looked up at me.
"I'm so sorry, Nik." She cried. Why is she apologising to me?
"You've got nothing to apologise for, sweetheart." I wiped her tears away with my thumbs and looked into her eyes. She stared back at me with such intensity. Before I knew it she had leaned forward and had planted her lips on mine. The kiss was soft and sweet at first but soon began to become more passionate. By that point I completely lost control and began to feel veins emerging under my eyes and my fangs emerge from my gums. In a panic I pulled away and sped to the back of the room to try and hide my face from Jade. But of course, it was too late.
"Nik?" She got up off the bed and began walking towards me. I was waiting for the insults and for her to run out but she did something I completely didn't expect. She was standing in front of me, her hands cupping my face. She traced the veins beneath my eyes with such fascination. After a few seconds they disappeared.
"It's okay." She hugged me. "You don't have to hide from me, Nik." When those words left her lips a tear slipped down my own cheek. No one had said anything like that to me for so long.
"What are you, Nik?" She didn't seem frightened or intimidated by me in any way so I decided to tell her. She listened to me so intently and with such fascination when I told her the story of my life, it was as if it were the kind of thing she heard everyday. She looked sympathetic when I told her of my father. Sympathy was not something I was used to.
"Why didn't you just tell me this before?" She asked.
"I was scared that you would want nothing to do with me anymore, I didn't want to lose you." I smiled and she smiled back. I have a feeling everything is going to be okay.
