***Elijah's P.O.V***

Three months.

That's how long it's been since Niklaus asked Jade to be his lover.

In my 1000 years I have never seen Niklaus as happy as he is now. He hasn't unnecessarily killed anyone, he's controlling his anger and for once our family feels complete.

Even though I am thrilled that my dearest brother has finally found his happiness, I can't help but feel jealous.

I remember when Klaus announced to us all that Jade was now his and I couldn't help but feel a pang of jealously. Jade was beautiful, intelligent and compassionate - almost the exact opposite of my brother. I can't deny that I feel something for the girl but of course I could never admit to it. We wouldn't want a repeat of Tatia and Katherine who both nearly tore my family apart.

I hope that for once, Niklaus will behave himself and not throw away the one thing that could be his salvation. I will not let him get away with hurting Jade.

But for now, the two are inseparable and despite how much it pains me to say it, I hope it lasts.

However, in order to maintain the peace I've had to withhold some information from Niklaus. Since my brothers greed ultimately led to the pain and suffering of many people, he's not on particularly good terms with the majority of people Mystic Falls. A prime example of this would be the Salvatores and of course Elena Gilbert.

Since Niklaus had been a little...preoccupied of late, it's been down to me to check up on 'business' at the Boarding House. It turns out that 'The Scooby Gang' as Klaus likes to refer to them as, have been planning to sabotage my brother's relationship and it's up to me as the noble elder brother to stop such atrocities from occurring. Hence why I'm currently on my way to the Salvatore's as we speak.

As I pull up to the drive, I can't help but feel as though I'm walking straight into a trap. The house is far too quiet and the only source of life seems to be coming from the living room.

Just as I raise my hand to ring the doorbell, the door swing open to reveal the oldest Salvatore.

"Elijah, what a pleasant surprise." Damon greets me sarcastically.

"Pleasure to see you again Damon." I reply. "But I'm afraid I'm here on business."

He gestures for me to come inside which I return with a smile. I walk into the living room to find Stefan and Elena (now with no humanity) sitting in chairs, sipping on some form of alcohol.

"Please, sit." Damon orders. I take a seat opposite the trio, all of which are staring at me.

"Now, it has come to my attention that the three of you along with many others are planning some sort of revenge against my brother, which happens to involve Jade." I state. "I'm sure you are all aware that I cannot let this happen." This earns me a snigger from Elena.

"Sorry to burst your bubble, Elijah but why exactly should we hold back? All Klaus has ever done to us is bring pain and sadness, and as for Jade well, she's just a straight up bitch." She replies with a smirk. Whatever happened to Elena? She was once such a sweet and loving young girl. She now resembles Katherine more than ever.

"I understand that my brother has made some...bad decisions regarding you and your loved ones, Elena."

"No kidding." I hear Damon say as he takes a swig of bourbon. I shoot him a glare and he gestures for me to continue.

"But I am asking you, please do not interfere with Niklaus' current state of affairs. I believe Jade is changing him for the better and by crossing him or any of us for that matter, you could be setting yourselves up for a rather large fall."

"Oh how rude of us," Elena begins, seemingly ignoring what I'd just said. "We haven't offered our guest a drink. Stefan, would you please fetch dearest Elijah something from the kitchen."

I watch as the oldest Salvatore leaves his seat and calmly exits the room.

"Look, Elijah. I know that you love your brother and you quite obviously feel something for Jade," at this comment my eyes grow wide but I quickly manage to compose myself. "But we've been waiting for this opportunity for so long, it would be stupid to not take advantage."

"I'm afraid I'm not following." I reply.

"You see, we've discovered Klaus' one weakness...Jade. All we have to do is remove Jade from the equation and its bye bye Klaus."

"You dare lay a finger on Jade and you'll not only be faced by Klaus but the entirety of my family, so I suggest you rethink your decision." I spit.

"Ohh, someone's touched a nerve." Damon laughs.

I'm quickly losing my temper. I cannot allow them to hurt Jade or Niklaus.

I lunge at Damon, snapping his neck before he even has the chance to blink. "So who's next?" I open my arms, inviting someone to come and attempt to take me down.

Elena speeds at me but I manage to pin her to the wall, just as I do so, I feel the familiar sensation of a dagger entering my heart. I turn to see a young man, clearly compelled, holding the end of the only thing minus the white oak stake than can take me out.

"You were always my favourite of the Mikaelsons, Elijah." Elena says as I begin to turn grey and veins begin to appear across my body. "Which is why I apologise for luring you into this trap. But we need leverage, and you fulfill that purpose just perfectly."

Her words send chills down my spine as I fall to the floor and darkness surrounds me.

I finally updated!

Hope everyone enjoyed this chapter, I suddenly had the idea for this chapter and had to write it! It was actually really fun to write ngl but omg Lijahhhhhh '-'
