Chapter 8~Normal Day

Chara Pov
I noticed Sans had left the lab and it seems Asriel noticed it too. I was about to ask Dad if I could go outside to talk to him but right before I could Dad said,"I think we should head home. How about dinner this weekend?" Dad asked Dr Gaster.

"I think dinner would be nice," Dr Gaster replied.

I watched as Sans's family left the lab. Our family then left the lab as well. I felt an ache in my soul when I couldn't talk to Sans. I turned to look back to see him but the door closed before I could. Hmm Mom and Dad said that they were coming over for dinner I can see him there.

Sans Pov
I walked home together with my family. I wanted to jump up with joy or skip all the way home but I managed to contain my excitement and continued walking at my usual, lazy, pace. From Paps's expression I could tell he was anxious to get home, he most likely wanted a complete explanation from both of our parents as well as get to know them more.

Once we got home I was almost instantly hit with a major headache. I leaned against the door frame clutching my head.

"Sans are you alright?" My mother asked worriedly.

"Yeah just a headache that's all," I said trying to be as reasuring as possible.

"How about you go rest while we talk is that ok?" My father asked.

I nodded and wobbled to my room before crashing onto my bed, blacking out again.

"Well hello again Sans," Said a calm, but demonic, voice.

It didn't take me long before I realised where I was. I got up from the floor and looked straight ahead at the pair of glowing eyes. This time though I noticed that Nightmare seemed diffrent. He was slightly translucent and I could faintly make out the details of his clothing. This was bad.

"I see that you noticed the change," he said.

"H-how did you-

"How did I get a bit of my physical form back? Well you see, when you were feeling jelous over the Dremurr family I managed to get hold of that feeling and ,even though it was brief, I managed to get back a bit of my powers," he explained.

"So what do you want from me this time?" I asked, regaining my composure.

"Oh Sans, I thought you'd already know by now," he said, his grin became a smirk.

"No," I said, my pinpricks disapeared briefly. Nightmare growled.

"No matter how long you stall I will get my turn wether you like it or not!" Nightmare screamed, black liquid poured out of his eye sockets as he did.

There was a loud ringing in my ears and then before I knew it I was back in the black, liquid, pit falling head first. I closed my eyes.

When I woke up I checked the time and realised that it was the next day. I sighed. After changing I went down stairs and was greeted with the delicious smell of cooked spaghetti. I smiled as I walked into the kitchen. Mom and Pap were cooking and Dad was sitting at the dinning table. I greeted them and they greeted back. We all ate the spaghetti together as a big family. It felt as if I could almost cry knowing I'd be waking up to my family everyday from now on.

Chara Pov
I woke up and smelled chocolate pancakes. I ran towards the kitchen hair still in a tangled mess. I got two pancakes and we began eating. We had a long chat yesterday about what me and Asriel did when we were kids. What my plan was to free all monsters. As well as what happened in the human village. There were tears and lectures as we told our story. However after that most of the night was spent just catching up with my parents as we watched movies and television shows.

The next day Dad made an anouncment to the whole underground about me, Asriel, Dr gaster and Mrs Ariel, who is Sans and Papyrus's Mom, being alive again. Dr gaster regained his title as the head royal scientist and Alphys was now working together with him. All the monsters were happy to hear that we were alive again.

Asriel and I were slowly counting down the days of the week waiting to be able to see Sans again. Once the weekends rolled around me and Asriel were excited to see the Gaster family again. While we were setting up the dining table we heard Dr Gaster's voice together with laughter and angry skeletons yelling, me and Asriel ran to the door. Mom and Dad also went to the door and they began talking. Frisk was still inside helping by setting up the table. When me, Asriel and Sans were all facing eachother we froze. This was the first time in years we saw Sans and this was also the first time he was seeing us in years.

We all went to the dining table and ate happily and chatted with eachother. I was sitting next to Sans and Asriel was sitting across from me beside Frisk. It was extreamly akward at first but when we started talking the akwardness slowly wore off.
After dinner Asriel, Sans and I went to the garden. We all sat down on the flower patch and we talked. We joked and laughed. Whenever me or Sans told a pun, Asriel would groan and say we were anoying or something else before laughing as well.

After awhile of laughing and remenising in old memories I asked Sans,"Hey, Sans where is the old black and white scarf that I gave you when we were kids?"

"Oh, Its at home sorry," he said flashing a sorry grin while scratching the back of this skull. I laughed.

"Then what about the locket? The one that we wore when we were kids?" Asriel asked.

"I'm still wearing it, see," Sans said pulling out a golden heart shaped locket from inside of his shirt with the words 'Best friends forever' engraved onto it. We smiled and continued telling puns to annoy Asriel. I couldn't help but smile when I saw Sans laugh. It was good to see my bestfriend again after years.
