He had sort of the same dream that he had had when he passed out at Camp Jupiter:

He was standing at a forest, watching as Annabeth talked to somebody he couldn't see. Annabeth screamed "sacrifice what? you can't ask me that! I can't " and she burst crying. Percy ran towards her to comfort her, he didn't like it when she cried.

Suddenly, two claws grabbed his arms and dragged him away. He struggled desperately and tried to reach Annabeth, but the claws wouldn't let go. Percy cried "get off me! I have to get to Annabeth! You can't— "

Annabeth turned, her eyes were puffy. "Seaweed Brain? oh gods."

"Annabeth! Don't do anything they tell you!"

Annabeth supressed a tiny smile and walked towards him. The claws let go and Percy ran to Annabeth and hugged her. She wrapped him in her arms, and for a moment, everything was just right. Then they let go. Annabeth patted his cheek and smiled warmly, but her eyes were watery.

Before Percy could say anything, she said "find me Seaweed Brain. Don't let me down. Always remember that whatever I do these days is for your good. Don't hate me. I love you" and she kissed him. Percy felt as if he might just melt right away, but he also felt concerned for what Annabeth said of him hating her...

The kiss ended and Annabeth walked a few yards away. She waved and shouted "Follow the trail of the owls! and don't forget to follow your hunches!" then she dissapeared within the forest. Everything went black.

" Ah!" He woke up with a throbbing sensation in his head and his back. His eyes snapped open as he groaned. He was lying on his stomach, in a white, soft bed in what seemed to be the Argo II's infirmary. Next to his', another bed looked like it had been vacated not so long ago. With difficulty, and trying hard not to vomit, he sat and chewed a piece of ambrosia he found in the table next to his bed. He felt as rigid as a piñata, wrapped as he was in all those bandages. He stopped a moment, trying to remember what his dreams had been about... something about Annabeth and... aaaaaah, he groaned. His memories of the dream were frustratingly dim. But he did remember two things Annabeth had told him via dream-message:

1. Do not hate me.

2. I love you.

A warm sensation went from his toes to his nose, up and down. Annabeth had already said she loved him, but hearing it again made Percy feel like he was immortal. But then he remembered the "don't-hate-me" part and his blood froze. What could Annabeth do that would ever make Percy hate her? He groaned again. His lack of answers was annoying. But heck! that's what Annabeth was good at!

But now she was gone again...

Percy stood up, and painfuly walked to the mid-opened door. He turned in the corner and his heart sank: in front of him, he saw one of the worst enemies of a wounded demigod:

STAIRS.

Twenty painful steps he would have to take to get to the deck. He groaned for the third time in five minutes.

"Cool. Now that I'm healing, I'll go up some pretty stairs that may just kill me"

Nevertheless he started going up. One, two, three. he counted. Four, five, six. Percy stopped to take a breath, his forehead was covered in sweat... and so was his shirtless torso.

"Damn it!" Percy hadn't noticed he didn't have his shirt on. And at the moment, strangely, that made him feel... vulnerable. Thankfully, he did have his jeans on.

Here comes the hero of Olympus, he thought, going upstairs like an old man and worrying of his clothes. He shook his head and walked the last fourteenth steps left. He noticed the ship was unusually quiet. He got to the deck and knew why: The five half-bloods set for the quest were sorrounded by the other romans who had come along. All of them talked in hushed tones. Percy noticed Piper had an enormous roll of bandages around her neck. All the others also showed cuts and bruises, but nothing severe. Although... there expressions were grim, and Percy noticed that some romans were crying...

He approached quietly and touched Hazel in the arm. She flinched.

"Hey, easy" He croaked. His voice was weak, so he hushed, instead, to pretend he was okay. "Hazel, what's happened? everyone looks so.,. shocked"

"Gods, Percy, I'm so glad you're awake! I was so worried... Piper and you were out for almost two days but... oh, ah, well. The question... Well, after the monsters attacked the ship, it took us a day to recover... Piper and you were taken to the infirmary... you almost died" she looked at him with concern "But well... no one knew where some things were, or were some people were because we were all spread in the ship, but... this morning, huh... three romans came to see us and... " She looked on the verge of tears.

"And what? Hazel, what?!"

" They've been taken Percy. Landon, Jeff, Anne, Julie... and even little Jenny. Oh, Percy. Gaea's forces took them. They could be dead... or worse"
