He said i find you attractive
and for a minute, I let that settle
deep within the parts of my body
that needed that touch of totality.
I knew better than to believe such
words but I wanted to hug them for
a minute before I had to face my reality.
He said i want to know more about you
and I wondered if he meant like an
autobiography of myself or the details
he would inadvertently use to claim me.
Oh, I wish I was as simple as purchasing a book, reading it and dumping it on a shelf
so dust can settle on it. I wish I could fulfill your wish of adding another girl to your list of girls.
I look at him and I don't see it.
Some of it must be true right?
The sparks, butterflies and irresistible pull to one another?
No, I didn't feel anything.
I felt nothing, bleh, empty...
