"So, when do you guys think we'll actually get to fight the titans?" Armin asked us as we walked into the dining hall, which was surprisingly deserted.
Mikasa shrugged, inserting a spoonful of potatoes into her mouth. "Hopefully not soon, since being a member of the Survey Corps comes with a high risk of getting killed."
"I just don't know about this, guys. I'm thinking about dropping out."
"Armin, are you serious? You're already thinking about dropping out this fucking early?" I said in disbelief.
"I don't want to die."
"Well, you have to be careful. All of us do." Mikasa replied, glaring at me.
"Where the hell is everyone anyways?"
"Probably over there, crowded around that table." Armin pointed to the group at the other end of the room.
"The fuck is going on?" I muttered, standing so I could get a clear view. A girl was sitting on top of the table, telling everyone some sort of story, due to the look of interest on everyone's face.
"It's just Stormer." Mikasa said.
"Stormer? Never heard of a Stormer." I replied, my eyes fixed on the girl.
"Stormer Amano. The top cadet in our class." Armin dreamily said.
"Do you have a crush on her?"
"Everyone does. She's more popular than Annie, and she's been at the top of the class until Stormer came along."
"What's so great about her anyways?" I asked. "She's just like everyone else, isn't she?"
"No, she actually killed the titan that killed her parents."
The group exploded with questions and comments. "How big was the titan?"
"Were you afraid?"
At one point I saw Stormer glance in my direction. I wonder what Levi thinks of this girl. I thought to myself, smirking. The door swung open, and like my thoughts have been answered, Levi walked into the room. Upon his arrival, everyone at Stormer's table scrambled to sit down except for her, who was still perched on the table, legs crossed.
"Get off the table. What are you, an animal?" Levi said, swatting her arm.
"Stop it." Stormer replied, slapping his hand away. I held my breath, waiting for Levi to kick her in the face.
"No, this is the only time I can mess with you." He punched her shoulder.
"You bastard." Stormer kicked Levi in the leg.
"Why isn't Levi kicking her ass?" I asked, looking back at my friends.
"They're cousins. You didn't know that?" Armin told me.
"No! How the hell can those two be related?"
"Who knows. I didn't even know Levi had a relative until she first came here."
I can see the similarities now. I thought as Stormer made her way over to our table.
"Oh God, she's coming over here." Armin panicked. "Guys, help me!"
"What? Just act normal." Mikasa replied. Armin frantically pulled off his jacket and threw it over his head as she stopped at our table.
"Hey Mikasa. Hey Armin." Stormer greeted them.
"Hey Stormer." Mikasa said, elbowing Armin.
"Hey Stormer." Armin's muffled squeak of a reply came from underneath the jacket.
"What are you doing?"
"Protecting myself."
"From what?"
"Unknown dangers." He firmly replied.
"Okay. Hey, I don't think I know you." Stormer looked over at me. "I'm Stormer."
"Eren. So did you really kill that titan?" I asked.
"Yeah, I did."
"That's- awesome." I lied, forcing a smile.
"It's also beautiful." Armin piped up, still underneath his jacket.
"Thanks I guess?"
"Can I also have a few locks of your hair for scientific purposes?" Mikasa punched him in his side. "Ouch."
"Sorry about that. He's weird."
"I can see that." The bell rang, signaling the end of lunch. "I'll see you guys at dinner." Stormer said, hopping off the table and exiting the room.
"Is she gone?" Armin cautiously asked, reappearing and looking around.
"Yeah, thank God because you would've pulled her hair out if she was still here."
"No I wouldn't have!"
"Come on, creep." Mikasa rolled her eyes and pulled Armin towards the door. "Eren, you coming?"
"Yeah, I'm coming." I replied. Let's see if Stormer's as good as everyone says she is. I thought, smirking to myself as I followed my friends out.
