"Do we have everything that's vital to the expedition?" Levi asked.
"Let me see here.." Hanji double checked the list in front of her. "Looks like it."
"Looks like it won't cut it." Levi snatched the list from her hands. "We're missing a few things."
"Oh right. I must've overlooked those."
"Where's the tarps we're missing?" I asked.
"I got 'em." I look over to see Stormer underneath the large fabric.
"Those are supposed to be folded."
"Yeah yeah." I rolled my eyes.
"Do you think we'll get to see the sea?" Sasha asked expectantly.
"Probably." Armin replied.
"Is everyone here?" Hanji shouted.
"If not, we're leaving without you."
"I can't believe we're actually going outside of the walls." Stormer hugs me from behind, her head on my shoulder.
"I know. We're leaving everything we ever knew behind." I replied.
"At least we have each other." Armin added.
"Armin's right." Mikasa said. "We may not have much, but all we need is each other to make it through."
"If you guys are done being all sentimental back there, we're about to hit the road." Jean butts in from behind us.
"I should've locked you in one of those crates." Stormer mutters. Armin and I stifle a laugh at her comment before heading back towards the group.
"Are we all ready?" Hanji asked from the front, Levi next to her.
"Hell yeah!" Connie shouted from a few feet behind us, the rest of us silent.
"So enthusiastic."
"Let's move out."
I felt Stormer lock her fingers with mine. "It's gonna be alright. If anything goes wrong, I'll be there to protect you." I assured her.
"I'm here for you too. I'll fight anyone who tries to hurt you." Armin tells Mikasa, taking her hand. A few snickers were heard from behind them, to which Mikasa ignored.
"Thanks Armin."
"Speaking of fighting, if there's any sight of titans, I want everyone alert and ready to fight." Levi informs us. "This isn't vacation."
"Look at all the damage." Historia points out as we pass the desecrated houses.
"Jesus Christ."
"Those titans sure did fuck everything up."
"No kidding."
"At least we'll be out of here soon." Marco said, attempting to look on the bright side.
"Yeah, this place was a hell hole." Annie muttered.
"Annie, you were probably born here." I rolled my eyes.
"So? What's your point, Jaeger? It doesn't matter if I was born here. It doesn't matter if any of us were born here either! Life inside the walls was nothing but hell for us and every other person that made it out alive!"
"Look, there's some people over there!" Sasha points at the groups of people lining the street ahead of us.
"They must be here to see us off."
"Captain Levi! What do you think is outside the walls?" One passerby shouts.
"Do you think there's more titans?"
"If there's going to be more titans, who's going to fight them while you're gone?"
"We've trained more recruits and they will be the ones to look after you while we're gone." Levi assured the crowd.
"What about the titan shifter?"
"Eren will help us if there is any titans on our expedition!" Stormer replied. "I will be of assistance as well since I am also a titan shifter!"
"Stormer! What the hell!" Armin hissed.
"It's fine."
"Everything is going to be fine."
"Bye!" Sasha waves to the crowd.
"Bye everyone!" Christa joins in. "Everyone wave goodbye!"
"Bye guys!"
"Good luck!"
"See ya!"
"Do you think they'll be okay without us, Eren?" Stormer asked me.
"They should be fine. It's not the elite squad that's looking after them, but at least it's something."
"Um, guys? Has anyone else noticed the guy that's been following us for the past five minutes?" Marco nervously said, gesturing to the side.
A guy with a black cowboy hat was riding next to us, his head down low.
"Babe, look." Stormer grabs my arm.
I notice the two large guns hooked to this guy's belt, and immediately start to feel nervous.
"I have a bad feeling that one of us isn't gonna come out of the walls alive." Armin whispered.
"Levi?" Jean waves his hand in the air.
"What?" Levi looks back at him. Jean points at the stranger. "Who the hell is that?" He pulls the reins on his horse and comes to a stop before dismounting. "Hey, what the hell do you think you're doing?"
"You don't remember me?" The stranger said.
"No. Who are you and why are you following us?"
The stranger chuckles before removing his hat. "I can't believe you don't remember me, Levi."
"This guy knows my cousin?" I said.
"Apparently."
Levi's eyes suddenly went wide. "Kenny?"
