"Hopefully Armin's not still mad at us after last night."
"He has to have forgotten about it by now." Mikasa added. "Look, he's sitting right there." Armin was sitting by himself, stabbing his fork into the pile of potatoes in front of him. "Hey." He immediately stood and moved to the empty table across from us where he plopped down and resumed stabbing his food.
"Well, I was wrong."
"Somebody needs to talk to him." Stormer looked over at me. "Eren?"
"What?"
"I think you need to go talk to Armin."
"But I don't wanna make things worse."
"Come on, Eren. He's your best friend." I didn't reply. "Fine. Apparently I have to do something about this." Storm stood up. "You owe me." She went over to Armin and sat beside him.
"So, what's with you and Stormer?" Annie said from behind me.
"What? Nothing!"
"I beg to differ with you. Everyone saw you guys holding hands when you walked in."
"My hand was cold." I lied.
"Sure it was. You should be grateful, Jaeger. Your little hand holding display just made you the most popular guy in the Survey Corps."
"What? I'm popular now?"
"Well, you're dating the most popular girl in the Corps, so yeah." Mikasa said.
"Jaeger's got a girlfriend!" Jean bellowed, clapping me on the shoulder.
"Uh, yeah."
"You don't sound very enthusiastic about it." Marco gave me a concerned look.
"I mean, yeah! Stormer's my girlfriend!" I went over and grabbed her, wrapping my arm around her waist.
"What?" Stormer said.
"Damn. You're the luckiest guy in the world."
"Oh hell yeah. I was lucky to find this beautiful little thing. Isn't that right, baby?" I looked over at my girlfriend.
"Yeah, sure."
"There's not a girl who wouldn't love to be in your position right now, Stormer." Marco told her.
"Umm, yeah I guess."
"Don't let go of her, Eren." Jean advised me.
"Don't you worry, I won't." I promised as we backed out of the dining hall. Mikasa and Armin were standing outside waiting.
"Please tell me your not going to turn into Jean." Mikasa said.
"What? No way. By the way, is everything okay between us now?" I asked Armin.
"Yeah, don't worry about it. I guess I was in denial about this whole girlfriend thing. But the cool thing about it is my best friend is the most popular guy in the Corps! You're even more popular than Levi!"
"Who's more popular than me?"
"Eren is."
"I do not like what I see." Levi said.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Well, your arm is around my cousin's waist and you're really close to each other. I'm just hoping what I think is going on isn't going on."
"Eren's my boyfriend, Levi."
"Jesus." Levi put his hand to his forehead.
"It's fine."
