Chapter Twenty Eight

When Misty and the guys return Raven is still up in her brothers room. Ben and Misty go up to Chance's room to check on him and Slender is following them. When they walk in Chance is awake and Raven is asleep. He woke up not long after she went to sleep.

"Hey mom and dad." He says lowly so he doesn't wake Raven. They walk over to his side.

"Slender is gonna heal the wound for you." Ben tells him. Ben picks Raven up so Chance can sit up. Chance sits up and pulls his hoodie and shirt off. His chest is covered in blood that's still running down his chest. Slender hovers a hand in front of him and he starts to heal. He has his blue goggles and black mouth gear off. Ben and Misty sees that his eyes are solid blue just like Misty's. Chance is now looking at them.

"Raven's eyes have changed if you're wondering." He looks over at his sister.

"How did.." Misty got cut off by Chance continuing.

"I can read minds like you mom, so can Raven. You was wondering if her eyes changes just like yours when you get mad. They do, when I woke up her eyes where solid black. They weren't like dad's anymore but when we got back to the mansion they were back to normal." Misty and Ben look at each over then down at Raven. When Slender was done healing the wound in Chance's chest he leaves the room. Raven woke up in her dad's arms.

"Chance?" She mumbles.

"I'm here sis." Chance says looking over at her. Raven gets out of her dad's arms and sits on his bed. She looks at the wound on her brothers chest. "I'm fine." She raises her mask to sit on her head. He can see the sadness in her eyes.

"I got you shot." She says looking at the wound.

"Raven, you didn't get me shot. I took the bullet for you. Now no more of this." Raven being the stubborn girl she is doesn't let it go.

"No it's my fault. I can't let it go." Masky and the others walk in while they're arguing. Misty is trying to break up the arguing while Ben is helping her.

"Guess we missed the party." Jeff says.

"Shut it Jeff." Misty says. Raven and Chance are still arguing about who got Chance shot and him trying to get her to shut it. Masky walks over to them and separates them.

"Raven, it's not your fault he got shot. It was the human that tried to shot you. Chance saved you from getting shot and you avenged him. He has your back and you have his. You remember that." Jeff and all the guys are watching Raven and Chance.

"We will." They both say in unison.

"What exactly did you curse that man with?" Jeff asked.

"A slow and painful death. He will rot from the inside out until he's dead." Raven keeps a straight face until a smirk comes upon her face. "No one messes with my brother but me." Chance looks over at her.

"You better not try cursing me." Chance says to her.

"I won't." She chuckles. She pulls her mask back down and gets off the bed. "LJ let's get candy."

"No Raven don't..." Raven and LJ run out of the room. Misty just face palms. "She never listens." Ben stands behind her and wraps his arms around her waist.

"She's just like you." Misty glares over her shoulder at Ben.

"I'm not stubborn."

"Really Misty? Just really?" Masky asked. "Last I remember when you was younger you was always having to sit in the corner."

"Ok, maybe I was a little trouble and stubborn but I never asked for it."

"When you was three you picked a fight with the neighbors kid for taking your candy."

"They started it!"

"You put the kid in the hospital and we had to move."

"Again they started it." Masky rolls his eyes under his mask.

"Yea, sure, whatever." Chance pulls his shirt and hoodie back on along with his face gear and goggles. He gets off the bed.

"Hold on Chance just rest." Misty tries to get him to lie back down.

"I'm fine mom. Don't worry."

"It's hard not to worry when you're just like your father." Ben glares at her while everyone else in the room is trying to keep a straight face.

"And what are you trying to say?" Ben questions Misty.

"I'm saying you're stubborn."

"I am not." Misty glares over her shoulder giving him the 'are you really trying to fight with me' look. "Ok maybe I am."

"Maybe?"

"Ok I am." Ben gives in. Chance snuck out to join Raven and LJ in the living room. He sits on the couch with his sister and they eat candy with LJ while watching The Nightmare Before Christmas. Misty and the guys come downstairs finding the three of them on the couch. They sit around the living room until Slender walks in.

"Hoody, EJ, LJ, Masky, and Toby you five are going on a few missions. You five leave in the morning." He walks out leaving them there. Misty looks at Masky and he looks at her. They all head to bed since most of them have to get up early.

Ben is lying in bed in just his boxers and his hat while Misty is in the bathroom. When she comes out Misty is in her sports bra and boy shorts. She crawls into bed with Ben and cuddles up to him. He reaches over turning his bedside lamp off.

"Night babe." He kisses her forehead. She keeps her head resting on his chest.

"Night baby." They fall asleep cuddled up to each other.

(Next day)

Everyone in the house is up. The guys going on the mission is getting ready to leave. Misty walks up to Masky throwing her arms around his neck.

"Be careful bro."

"I will sis, don't worry."

"You better come back soon or I'll let Raven get you."

"Oh shit, not Raven. You wouldn't let her punish me, would you?" He chuckles a little at her.

"Dead serious. We all know Raven looks up to you."

"Then why don't you tell Toby to but careful?"

"Toby can't feel pain. If he got hurt he wouldn't feel it but you can if you got hurt." She keeps him wrapped in her arms.

"Misty I will be careful. Now you have to let me go." She let's him go but Raven runs up and hugs his waist.

"Be careful Uncle Masky." She slightly smiles up at him.

"I will Raven. I'll be back before you know it." They let go of each other. "Be good for your mother. Only give her hell if you see her and Ben kissing or something." Misty's mouth hangs open. Masky just laughs along with Raven before turning to go out the door. When he turned around Chance was hugging Toby. "Come on Toby the others are waiting for us." They walk out the door leaving. Raven and Chance runs to the door. Chance summons a breeze to blow while Raven summons shadows to follow the guys out.

"Go my shadows lead them to the others." Raven mutters but her brother could hear her. Chance pulls her to him.

"They'll be fine. They're strong."

"I know." Raven says. They walk back in and close the door behind them.
