Today was the day, our championship and last game of the season well .. last game in high school for most of us because when next saturday comes it'll be the hardest day of our lives. Saying goodbye to high school and hello to adult-hood. It's a bittersweet situation honestly. I hate high school it's annoying as hell but I also don't want to be an adult yet.
"Hey baby, you okay ?" My momma asked me and I nodded my head.
"I'm good ma dukes, you know me" I replied knowing I was lying.
"It's okay to be nervous baby. But just know your the star on that field. Those scouts will most definitely keep their eyes on you and you know it." She said, which I already knew. I wasn't worried about just ANY scout. I haven't told anyone this but i'm actually looking into going to the university of alabama, not only because of their football team but it also had a good biochemistry program. Everybody sees me going straight to the NFL after college but my coach taught me that just because you want it to happen doesn't mean it does, he told me to have a backup plan . Accidents happen all the time and I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket.
"Baby you should get going now" My momma said and making me look at the time.
"Ma it's only 3:30 , the game don't start til 5" I responded back and she rolled her eyes walking away.
"So you forgot about picking your girlfriend up huh ?" She said while walking away. "Niggas ain't shit" I heard her say
"WHAT YOU SAY MA ?" I yelled back and she turned around.
"YOU AINT SHIT. Go get that girl and tell her I said hey. Leaving my baby high and dry. What the hell wrong with you. You must have got that from yo damn daddy"
"Okay momma i'm going ... damn" I said shaking my head walking to the door with my stuff.
It's not that I forgot about Aby. It's just that she's been so attached to Dess that she ain't been texting a nigga. But don't get me wrong I'm not mad about it because I get it but at the same time a text a day just to let me know she straight would be nice.
"HELLLOOO ! What I do to you the fuck ?" Aby said putting her hands in my face. I was so wrapped up in my thoughts that I didn't even notice Aby & Dess get in the car.
"My bad Aby. My head not in the right place right now. Where y'all wanna go ?" I asked then I heard her smack her teeth.
"It don't even matter yo" She said while putting her airpods in.
