chapter five!
"That totally freaked me out. Did that not freak you guys out?" Max questions, giving the rest of the group a once-over. They'd found Will, his mother having had shown up to help shake him out of whatever was going on. He'd seemed to be in some sort of daze— or trance, maybe— and had started shaking; like one would if they were having a seizure. The group ignored the redhead and continued to talk as if she wasn't there.
"Two episodes, two days." sighed Lucas, dejectedly. Max took notice of how truly upset he seemed to be— despite knowing somewhat of what had just happened. "Do you think it's True Sight?"
"What's True Sight?" asked Max. This revelation from Lucas had made her just more confused. True Sight sounded like something from a book or video game, but they were discussing it like it was something real— something important.
"Nothing," muttered Lucas in response, seemingly just realizing that he'd slipped-up in front of Max.
"Okay, I know I can't be the only one who is clearly confused, I bet Cassie is conf-" Max trails off, looking for Cassie just to realize she's not there. Her eyebrows furrow, worry lines forming on her forehead. An upset frown rests on her face as she turns to the others. "Guys, where is Cassie?"
Silence fills the air, no one in the group knowing even remotely where the girl could be. The last place Mike remembered seeing her was in the gym, but now that he thinks about it he really hasn't seen her sense. Dustin looks around, spinning in circles and even taking to looking behind the trashcan. Max's eyes widen as nobody says anything.
Shit.
"Dustin, go find Billy and ask for Cassie's medicine. He'll know what you're talking about. Lucas and Mike follow me, but be very very quiet," instructs the redheaded girl, rubbing her forehead in stress. She'd told Cassie to take her medicine, but did the blonde listen? Nope. Dustin hesitates, seeing as how Billy scares him, simply from the reputation he'd begun to grow in the amongst the high schoolers. However, upon seeing the look of desperation on Max's face, he then turns and runs towards the high school.
"Now it's our turn to be confused," Lucas mumbled to Mike, the boy nodding as they followed Max into the school and towards the gym. Max ignores them, just as they did her, and continued speed-walking down the hallway.

Dustin, knowing that Billy played basketball, heads towards the highschool gym when he doesn't see the mullet-wearing teen near his gorgeous car. When he gets into the gym, he spots Billy playing against Steve Harrington— the schools' crowded king and Nancy Wheelers boyfriend— and runs onto the court and straight towards him, dodging the other teenagers in the court.
"Billy!" He shouts over all the noise, gaining most of the gyms attention. His face turns a bright red as everyone turns to look at him. He puts his hands on his hips, attempting to steady his breathing from all the running. "Sorry to interrupt, but Max said that Cassie needs her medicine."
"Okay? And?" asked Billy, who seemed mostly unbothered by the revelation as he holds the basketball in under his arm. Sweat dripped down his face and his hair stuck to his skin, making Dustin hold back a grimace. "I don't care. Can't you see I'm busy?"
"Jesus Christ, shut up, Billy," sassed Steve, giving the boy an unimpressed look. He couldn't understand how Billy seemed so uncaring when his sister clearly needed help. "Just tell the kid where to find the medication."
"Don't tell me what to do, Harrington,", retorts Billy, but points over to his backpack nonetheless. "Check the side pocket of my backpack— might be in there, might not. I don't know. Either way, don't bother me anymore."
