Leila sat on the wet bench in her white dress. Soaked through and through, Leila still sat there...drenched...in white.
A man walked up to her.
"Won't you go home?" He asked.
Leila shook her head."No. I'm waiting for my lover." The man nodded, tipped his hat, and walked away.
Thirty minutes passed, a young woman was running for safety from the rain and saw Leila on the bench. Shocked, she ran up to Leila.
"What are you doing out in the rain?" She asked. Leila smiled and crumpled the satin skirt of her white dress in her tight fist.
"I'm waiting for my lover." The woman smiled, shook her lovely hair out and went her way.
Thirty more minutes passed and Leila kept sitting on the bench. Not moving. Just sitting, drenched, cold and tired.
An old lady who didn't seem fazed in the slightest by the rain saw Leila and walked up to her.
"What are you doing out here, young miss?" Leila smiled, rubbed her face and answered;
"I'm waiting for my lover."
The old woman frowned.
"Your lover?"
"Yes, my lover." Leila replied, staring through the rain in grim concentration.
The old woman frowned again.
"Your lover shouldn't leave you out here in the rain." Leila folded her hands in her lap.
"My lover..." A fat teardrop hit her satin skirt and she brushed it away.
"My lover won't be here. He passed away."
The old woman covered her palm and pulled the soaked flower in her hair out.
"Darling, your lover has been here the whole time. He has seen you waiting for him and he is happy. Go home, relax and look at all the wonderful things around you."
Happily, Leila stood up and thanked the woman one thousand times before walking off. Just as she was about turning the bend, the woman called her back.
"Young miss, your flower." Leila took the drenched flower and put it in her hair.
"Thank you Madam..."
"Madam Lisa. And you're welcome. Just always remember this; HE CAME."
Leila smiled and hugged the woman, tears running down her cheeks.
"He came,"
