"Alright, we won!" Theo cheered ecstatically, dancing on top of the bench in the changing room. His over-the-top dance moves earned a round of laughs and applause from his human teammates. His werewolf one shook his head, but couldn't stop himself from smiling victoriously.

"Hurry up, man," Dylan said. He was already changed and ready to go.

Theo, on the other hand, was still in his boxers. "Awe, can't you let me enjoy this moment?"

Dylan thought for a second. "Nope. I'll wait for you outside."

"You mean you'll be waiting with Emily," Theo corrected, mockingly grinding the air.

Dylan rolled his eyes and left the locker room. He quickly found Emily, surprised to see Daisy with her. The two girls sat together at the top of the bleachers. The Alpha female seemed to be doing most of the talking, and as Dylan drew closer, he could hear what Daisy was pestering Emily about.

"Will you be going to university after high school?" Daisy asked curiously.

"That's the plan," Emily answered.

"What will you study?"

"Engineering."

Daisy looked impressed. "Not bad. Do you want to have kids?"

Emily was taken back by the question. "What?"

Thankfully Dylan reached the two girls just in time. "Hey, ladies."

Daisy perked up. "Dylan!" She jumped up from her seat and quickly made her way down to Dylan. Emily was a few steps behind her, struggling to keep up with the Alpha female. Daisy threw her arms up in the air, going in for a hug. Emily's face fell in anticipation.

Instead, Dylan side-stepped Daisy and took both girls by surprise when he reached out and hugged Emily. Emily initially flinched at the contact, stunned by the onslaughter of warmth and overpowering sense of security. Then, yearning replaced her surprise, and she eased into his embrace, leaning down and wrapping her arms around him.

"Congratulations on winning!" Emily beamed, resting her head on his shoulder. She could see Daisy, who had her arms crossed over her chest and was staring at Dylan and Emily with a blank expression. The two girls made eye contact, and Emily couldn't stop herself from smiling smugly at Daisy, who returned a bone-chilling smile of her own. Emily shrunk into Dylan, grateful that he stood between her and Daisy.

Dylan was too preoccupied with having his mate in his arms to notice her subtle reaction. "Thanks. I'm so glad you could come," Dylan replied, sneaking in a quick, deep breath of Emily's scent before he pulled back. Dylan wasn't ready to fully let go of his mate and reached down to grab her hands. Sparks emitted from their skin to skin contact.

Emily sucked in a breath, still not used to feeling the electricity with Dylan. Her worry of Daisy instantly vanished, replaced by the smooth current running through her from Dylan. The electricity made all her insides warm, particularly her heart that fluttered at Dylan's touch. She squeezed his hands back, causing the sparks to intensify. In response, she smiled wide, looking into Dylan's beautiful eyes. Both colours shone brightly, and he grinned right back at her.

"Get a room!" Called out a boy in a mocking tone. "The last thing I wanna see this evening is you two doing the nasty."

"Agreed," Daisy mumbled loud in enough for Emily to hear.

Emily turned to see Dylan's friend and teammate walking up to them. She remembered him from Dylan's last game. He was the eccentric one: Theo. "Congrats on winning," Emily said politely, letting go of one of Dylan's hands so she could stand side to side with him. She held on to his other hand, refusing to let go.
