Chapter 3
“Hey Bell I’m at your house… where are you,” Steph wondered on the phone.
Shoot, it’s now two days out to what was going to be my wedding date and I’ve been so caught up in everything that has been going on I haven’t spoken to anyone over the phone… I wonder if we’ve told the guests to not come anymore.
“No one told you,” I wondered.
“Told me what,” Steph asked warily.
“I’m at the hospital Matt has been in a car crash,” I informed her.
“What,” Steph shouted.
“Just come down to the hospital,” I said.
“Okay I’ll be there soon,” Steph announced before hanging up.
I took a deep breath before walking into the hospital I quickly made our way up to Matt’s floor Madi and Jen were already there a concerned looked still consuming their faces.
“How’s Matt,” I asked.
“He’s just been rushed away again,” Jen announced.
“What! What happened,” I shouted.
“We don’t know he literally got taken away five seconds before you turned up,” Madi informed me.
“This is awful what did he ever do to deserve this,” I thought.
“Bell he’s strong he’ll pull through this for everyone, I promise,” Jen stated.
“How can you promise that? His physical injuries are horrible he will never fully recover but then there’s his mental injuries as well and no one knows what they’re going to be like until he’s awake and that can be weeks away,” I said.
“We just have to hope that he’ll make it,” Jen replied.
“I hope he does,” I agreed.

“Bell,” I heard someone announced; once I turned around I was already taken in a hug and once the long blonde curls covered my face I knew it was Steph so I immediately returned the hug.
“Steph I’m scared,” I whispered.
“I know you are,” Steph said, “how is he?”
“I don’t know he’s just gone into surgery again,” I announced into her shoulder.
“But he’s going to be alright… Right?” Steph wondered.
“They say he’s going to live but they don’t know what mental effects he has obtained and even then he’s broken the left side of his body so he might not ever fully recover,” I informed her.
“Poor Matt how’s Piper,” Steph asked.
“She just has a broken arm she’s loving all the attention though,” I replied.
“Where is she now,” Steph asked.
“She’s with Mark he’s looking after her today,” I informed her.
“Okay then how about later we go out for dinner or lunch depending on how long Matt’s surgery takes,” Steph wondered.
“Sounds good, I don’t think I’ve been anywhere outside these walls in three days.”

Two hours has passed and thankfully Matt’s surgery has gone perfectly, I pretty much zoned out once I found out he was okay then about 30 minutes later Steph and I headed to the local café on the water’s edge it was very nice except for the fact that it’s pouring down raining.
“Bell why didn’t you tell me about the accident,” Steph wondered as our food got placed on the table.
“I was just distracted so consumed up in making sure Matt would live through the night to worry about anything else. If we didn’t live in such a small town I doubt I would’ve even remembered to call off the wedding,” I explained.
“Okay I guess I can forgive you… but how was LA,” Steph questioned seeing as though see knew all about the interview.
“It was good up until Mark called me just before I went in for my interview, oh and you’ll never guess who I saw in the elevator,” I replied.
“Don’t tell me One Direction getting ready for a photo-shoot,” Steph answered.
“I wish,” I exclaimed with a little laughter, “my Dad.”
“What,” Steph said in disbelief.
“I know and he was shall I say… nice to me,” I told her.
“Is he dying because don’t people start being nice to people when their dying,” Steph asked.
“No, I don’t think so anyway,” I replied with laughter.
“What did he say to you,” Steph asked.
“He asked me about Piper and I told him I was getting married… he seemed surprised,” I told her.
“But he was nice to you, you must be happy about that,” Steph said.
“Yeah I am but I don’t think I’m ever going to see him again,” I replied.
“I guess only time will tell,” Steph said with a shrug.
My phone then started to ring, I quickly pulled it out of my bag to see the caller ID; it was Jen.
“Steph I have to take this,” I announced.
“It’s fine take it,” Steph said.
“Hello,” I answered.
“Bell, it’s Jen,” Jen replied.
“Yeah what happened, is Matt okay,” I questioned quickly.
“Matt, he’s awake,” Jen replied quickly as a smile spread across my face.
