Chapter Fifteen: The Roughest Part

Bruce looked at Amelia and sighed. He knew today was gonna be a rough one. Bruce leaned over and pressed a kiss to Amelia's cheek.

"You okay?" Bruce asked.

"Sure." She mumbled. Bruce rubbed her arm then got out of bed. He had to run into the lab today but he didn't want to leave the kids alone with Amelia in her current state. So Bruce went about his normal routine. Brushed his teeth, shower, put on clothes. Bruce walked out of the bathroom while buttoning his sleeves. He looked over to Amelia who hadn't even moved.

"I'm gonna take the kids up to Tony then head into the lab." Bruce said Amelia made a soft sound but didn't move. Amelia laid in bed as she heard the door shut and a small tear fell down her cheek. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------"Where is Mommy?" Noah asked as Bruce finished plating their breakfast.

"Probably wallowing in pity." MJ said making Bruce look at her in shock. "Today her first husband's birthday."

"Michelle. How could you even say that about your mother?" Bruce scolded.

"But it's true-"

"Enough." Bruce said he signaled for her to look at Noah and Ava who looked on the verge of tears. "Mommy wasn't feeling the best this morning and asked I take you to Tony's for the day while I head in to work." Everyone finished eating and then collected all their stuff so they wouldn't have to come back down. Bruce was walking out of MJ's room and saw Ava was standing in front of the door to his and Amelia's room.

"Ava, you okay?" Bruce asked crouching to her level so he could look at her. Ava looked at him then ran towards the elevator. Bruce sighed and stood up then ushered them into the elevator. The elevator opened and Noah and Ava ran to get to Tony.

"Hey man." Tony called as Bruce and MJ walked into the living room.

"Hey. I got to run into the lab today. You mind watching them?" Bruce asked as MJ walked passed them and to the couch.

"How's Mom handling everything?" Tony asked him.

"Worse than she thought. Didn't even get out of bed." Bruce said rubbing the back of his neck. Tony sighed and nodded.

"JARVIS will keep an eye on her." Tony said. Bruce waved to the kids then left. He stopped in their apartment real quick and saw Amelia was curled up on the couch.

"Kids are with Tony for the day. I'm heading into the lab. Do you need anything before I go?" Bruce asked her.

"No." She whispered. Bruce leaned over the couch and kissed her cheek. Amelia turned and pressed a soft kiss back. Bruce held her for a moment then let go so he could head out.

"We have a run away hover tire!" Howard yelled. Amelia ran up and stepped onto the table using it as leverage to jump onto the hover tire. She pulled the wrench that was in her mouth out and pulled a few nuts out. The tire instantly dropped and she fell with it. Amelia groaned in pain as she hit the ground and rolled away from the broken hover tire that had crashed a few feet from her. Howard ran over to Amelia as she pushed herself up.
