Chapter Twenty-One: Sokovia

"Is she up and running?" Amelia asked as her and Fury walked towards the Helicarrier.

"Yes Ma'am. Hill said that it's ready to go when we are." Fury said making her nod.

"Lets get to it then." Amelia said as they walked into the Helicarrier. "Did anyone call James see if he wants to lend us a hand?"

"Right here Ma'am." Rhodey said through the coms.

"Is everyone ready this may feel weird." She warned. The crew all nodded and tried to brace themselves. Amelia held her hands out and concentrated on moving the Helicarrier. The Helicarrier felt like they only moved a few meters but it was actually across the ocean.

"I didn't say we should leave. There's worse ways to go. Where else am I gonna get a view like this?" Amelia heard Natasha ask as she stood let her arms rest by her arms by her side. Many of the operator looked at her in amazement. She looked at Fury and nodded.

"Glad you like the view, Romanoff. It's about to get better. Nice, right? I pulled her out of mothballs with a couple of old friends. She's dusty, but she'll do." Fury said as Amelia disappeared in a green smoke cloud.

"Fury, you son of a bitch." Steve said as they watched the Helicarrier.

"Oooh! Steven, I know you kissed mom with that mouth." Amelia said as she walked up next to the group. "And you clearly underestimate me."

"This is SHIELD?" Pietro asked them.

"This is what SHIELD's supposed to be." Amelia said softly.

"This is not so bad." Pietro said before looking at Amelia. "Who are you and where have you been hiding?"

"I'm 97 and married with 4 kids. Also I haven't been hiding. Honey, I'm the one who knocked you on your ass with the sheet of metal." She said with a wink. Amelia helped the group stop the robots from attacking them as they loaded the life boats. Amelia looked at the sky when Tony came over the coms.

"Mom. You and Rhodey, get the rest of the people on board that carrier." Tony told them.

"Got it." She called as she moved to help the next person. Amelia didn't even notice how long she was helping people leave. Carrier after carrier until there was one left. Steve put a hand on her shoulder before looking towards the playground where large objects were being thrown around. "I got him." She took off towards the park. "Hey big man." She said holding her hand up making him following her movement. He lifted his hand to match hers but a rain of bullets showered them and the Hulk was quick to cover her. He scooped her up in his arms and jumped away. He set Amelia on the deck of the Helicarrier then took off. She watched him for a minute before startling everyone by running towards the bridge.

"Ma'am?" One of the men asked.

"Move." She said moving the chair and started typing. The picture came through and she smiled at the hulk. "Hey big man. We did it, the job's finished. Now I need you to turn this bird around, okay? We can't track you in stealth mode, so help me out. I need you t... Bruce?" Her voice began to break up. "Bruce?" Tears started to stream down her face as she hunched over slightly. Steve walked into the bridge then walked over to his sister and helped her up and out of the room. Amelia laid her head on Steve's chest and sobbed.

"Lia. I can't understand you." He mumbled as he laid his head against hers.

"What do I tell our kids?" She asked as Steve looked at her. Steve sighed as he rested his cheek on her head.

Amelia, Tony, and Steve stepped out of the elevator and heard their names get called.
