Chapter Nineteen: Visions

Amelia watched as her best friend turn to nothing in front of her. She didn't know what the think or how to react. So much was going on inside of her but that's when she felt it. It started as a sick feeling in her stomach. At first it was small and barely noticeable but it minutes it was huge and overwhelming. She looked around and saw Steve. He was hunched over a pile of something on the ground.

"Steve?" She called quietly. His head instantly snapped up to her. "I... I..." She couldn't even get a sentence out she was so overwhelmed. Steve was up and over to her in seconds. 

"Not you too. Please. Not you too." Steve was crying as she felt herself become nothing. "I can't loose you too."

"I'm sorry Stevie. I'm sorry." She whispered as she wiped a tear off his face.

Amelia quickly sat up in bed. She looked at her hands and made sure she was still there and not in the forest scenery they had been in previously. She sighed and looked at Bruce, who at some point in the night had picked up three children to snuggle with. Noah was laying on top of Bruce, Ava was snuggled into one side and MJ was at the foot of the bed. She smile happy that they were all in one place and easy to check on. Amelia then used her abilities to move MJ to where she had once been laying and left the room. She went into the living room and sat on the couch. She threw something on and halfheartedly watched it. She couldn't get the nightmare out of her head. Her thoughts were interrupted when a voice talked to her. 

"Stuck awake too." Tony asked as he walked into the room and sat next to her.

"Probably based on different reasons." Amelia said as Tony sat down next to her. 

"I wanted to ask you about something." He said as he looked at her. 

"Ask away I have no secrets. Not anymore." She said not looking at him. 

"I looked through all the files that Natasha put out none of them said anything about you other than the transcripts from your interviews." 

"Not a question but I'll answer you none the less. None of them were actually written down. We weren't dumb enough like HYDRA. We built SHIELD while the country was bouncing back from the second war and right into another war. There were targets that had to be taken down through less legal means and well I was taught by the best US sharpshooter." She said thinking back to all the targets she had taken down. "I didn't want to but it didn't seem like we were ever going to have kids and it distracted me from that."

"I don't understand how you could do that and have no bad feelings about it?" Tony said making her scoff. 

"You all think it was so easy during the time period after the war. It was hell. Awful. People were still trying to take down the US the only difference is that people started to attack us on US soil. America would have fallen if we didn't do what we did. It sucked and it was probably the worst feeling in the world doing what I did but I did it so there would have been a country left." Amelia stopped smiling to herself a little. "The states would not have survived if I hadn't kill those people. Then we burned all the files if anything was written down because there would have been riots. People would have demanded we step down the peace hippie movement would have started much sooner." Tony looked at his mother and felt bad. She didn't need him making her feel like shit. 

"So be honest who really killed JFK?" Tony asked her making her raise an eyebrow with an amused smile. 

"Your Uncle James. That one was all him." She said making Tony nod. "Anthony. I want you to know something."
