Bryan was still awake, unfortunately for him. The journal that Joshua gave him came in very beneficial use though. It gave him a chance to calm his nerves for as long as time would allow him to.
"Christ..." he mumbled to himself. Who else would he be talking to? "I've already used up all of this thing. I might need a new one sooner or later."
The thing was, there was a very good reason why he couldn't fall asleep. This time, it wasn't his parents, his grandpa, or even his brother. It was Evelyn. Reading that paper caused him to have even more vengeance towards the Raiders. They already took his grandfather's life, and now they're becoming predators towards thirteen-year-old girls? Amelia was right about everything she said. They're sick people, and that's why he was so angry.
He wasn't just angry, though. He was also worried about her. Bryan recalled a vital detail about that note, and it was at the very end. It said something about keeping a close eye on her because they were worried about the aftereffects, which was when she woke up from her sleep. Reading that caused him to want to be there for her, to make sure that she wouldn't try anything that she shouldn't. He wondered how Amelia felt about this.
Bryan finished his last sentence in his journal and closed it. After he placed it on the nightstand, he switched off the lamp and attempted to finally fall asleep. Before he knew it, the quiet fan helped him fall into a deep slumber.

A knock at the door shook Bryan out of his sleep. He groaned, feeling like he acquired no sleep whatsoever. Once he opened the door, a happy Amelia greeted him at the entrance. "Good morning sweetie!"
The boy rubbed his eyes for another couple of seconds, still trying to process everything that was happening. A cool breeze suddenly made him get chills. "Uh, what time is it?"
Amelia glanced at her watch. "9:45. Why?"
"I'm going back to bed," he stated half-jokingly, about to close the door. "I didn't get jack on sleep."
"No! Bryan!" she hollered back, forcing the door back open. Before she could get on to him about it, Bryan stopped her with a gentle hug. He could tell that she was surprised by it at first, but she eventually returned it.
"Good morning to you too, hun," Bryan said sweetly. After he released her, he noticed a blush on Amelia's face. "I'll catch up with you in about ten minutes. Is that okay?"
She smiled pleasantly, pushing her hair back behind her left ear. "I'll wait here for you. Be quick though, because I want to get a good spot in line for breakfast."
He chuckled. "I'll be done before you can count to fifty."
Amelia suddenly closed her eyes and began to count. "One, two, three, four..."
Indeed, Bryan was quick about getting ready, because he knew that Amelia didn't have very much patience. Then again, he has noticed that she did have some patience with him. He is the one that's aggravating her most of the time anyway.
He threw on some decent clothes that matched well. He ran to the bathroom and brushed his teeth and fixed his hair to his liking, then put on some deodorant. Bryan took a second to make sure he looked good for Amelia's sake, then he ran to the front door, where he could hear Amelia counting.
