Bryan felt weird. He's felt this way for the past couple of days, but he didn't feel the need to talk to Amelia about it. She was pretty much the only one he could talk to, since Joshua and Bethany were sent to Kentucky to look for more survivors. As he was in his cabin watching more of the government-issued television, his mind couldn't help but wander. It wasn't like he didn't feel safe inside the camp, it was the fact that he felt like something was about to happen. Bryan just wished that he knew what it was.
He was also beginning to feel sick to his stomach because of it. He skipped both breakfast and lunch, which he felt bad about. When Beth and Joshua were off somewhere, him and Amelia always sat together with Evelyn, who was now friends with them.
Evelyn was certainly pretty for her younger age of thirteen. Amelia really wanted to become friends with her, and Bryan didn't mind in the least bit of course. She was also very quiet, probably because of what she went through right before the Response Team found her getting assaulted by ruthless Raiders. Bryan shook his head, recalling the note written by Joshua when they visited her in the nurse's office. He's always hated the Raiders, but now he absolutely despised them.
Soon, a knock came at his cabin door. Groaning, Bryan got up from his couch to answer it. "Who is it?"
"It's me, dummy. Now open the door."
Bryan rolled his eyes and opened it, and there stood Amelia wearing a matching blue outfit that made her look absolutely gorgeous. She also wore that golden smile that made her eyes sparkle, and Bryan had to resist the urge to blush like mad. Amelia was also carrying a tray of food that contained a chicken sandwich with fruit slices.
"U-Uh, hey Lia. How are you?" he asked, feeling his face grow warm.
Amelia smiled brightly as Bryan moved out of her way, inviting her inside. She accepted. "Hey cutie. I brought you some lunch in case you got hungry."
Bryan took the tray and sat in the loveseat next to her. "Thanks. You didn't have to do that though."
"Well, I knew you would probably get hungry, since you missed breakfast," she said, twirling a strand of hair in her finger. "How are you feeling? Still sick?"
He nodded and took a bite of the sandwich, approving the crunchy taste. "Yeah. I'll be alright."
Amelia studied him for a few seconds before speaking up again. "What's on your mind?"
Bryan swallowed an apple slice and looked at her precariously. "Hm? What do you mean?"
"You've got something heavy on your mind, I can tell. What is it?" she asked, giving him a soft but concerned expression.
Jeez, Bryan knew that she was smart, but Christ she can see right through him. Truth be told, he still didn't want to talk about it that much, but with Amelia, it's like she automatically lays down her guard and lets you talk to her about whatever's on your mind. Bryan sighed and tried to think of what to say.
"I think it's part of the reason of why I'm suddenly feeling sick to my stomach. I just think that something bad is fixing to happen," he started, looking down at Amelia's lap. Bryan wished that he could lay in it. "I wish I knew what it was."
