You know, even with Navarez and Joshua gone, things weren't so bad around here. The camp had a lot of things that could be used to take my mind off of a lot of things, but I'm sure Bryan has already explained most of it already."Hey, can we go to the pool?" Olivia asked as we were walking from the dining hall following lunch. Evelyn looked over at me and smiled. I tried to hide a blush.
"I guess. Depends on what Dad wants to do," I said. Dad was currently getting checked up at the nurse's office for his wounds from the fight. Mine was after dinner. Olivia pouted in response, and I held back a smile that would probably piss her off even more.
"I mean, I haven't had the chance to go in a long while," Bryan said, casually putting his hands behind his head. "I'd like to go if it's alright with you guys."
"Neither have I," said Amelia. Then she smiled and flirtatiously turned to Bryan. "I've been wanting to show Bryan this new bikini I got, but he's been too embar-"
"Wait, wait!" he exclaimed, turning red from embarrassment. "That's not it, I-ugh! WHY DID YOU HAVE TO SAY THAT?!"
All of us chuckled at that. At this point, Bryan was now a blushing mess. I almost felt bad for him. "Just remember, we have kids present."
"What did Amelia mean, Jeremy?" asked Olivia, and I rolled my eyes with a smile. Braxton frowned, and I could only imagine what going through his head.
"Uh, you'll learn when you're older." Olivia pouted again, and I chuckled quietly. "Let's just go to the pool already."
-------------------------
The pool was empty, for reasons that you could probably guess correctly. Nobody had the urge to go, following the events from yesterday. Nonetheless, it was free for us, so we didn't hesitate to cannonball in.
Bryan, of course, was the first one to jump inside the deep end. When he emerged to the top, he had that goofy smile on his face. "It's cold, but feels amazing!"
I took a seat in a chair right next to it, since I only came here due to Olivia's persistence. Evelyn walked up to me, and I fought the urge to look at her amazing body. "Hey, aren't you gonna come in with us?"
I shrugged. "Maybe in a bit. Say, why don't you take a seat next to me? Unless you want to join them; I don't care either way."
She glanced back at the rest of the group in the water, and I made a mental note to keep an eye on Braxton to make sure he doesn't get trampled over. Evelyn slid a chair next to me and took a seat. "What's on your mind?"
I bit my lip and looked away in my siblings' direction. "It's about the reason why we came here in the first place. We were supposed to come here and rescue you three and immediately leave, but we got caught up in the fight."
Evelyn looked confused. "Why did you guys want to rescue us in the first place? I mean, especially me and Amelia, who you had no idea existed..."
My chest tightened up again, but still not quite as rough as the ones in the past have been. "W-Well, because I wasn't about to leave you two behind like that."
"That still doesn't...ah, nevermind," she said. "Anyway, what were you going to say?"
I had to think for a minute to remember where I was at. "Oh yeah. My dad and I are thinking about heading south before it gets cold, and our original plan was to take you three with us. He wanted me to talk to you guys about it and see what your thoughts were on it."
