Murder of Order

Chapter 8

We're going home but before that, we're gonna go to the border first where I left my SUV. It's for real never the best idea but we are starving already and there's a bunch of food inside that SUV that could sustain us for the whole five hour drive. May mga gamit din ako dun kaya kung pwede mang makuha ko, bakit hindi.

We're gonna scavenge for food and supplies along the way. We are planning to get as much stuff as we could that would suffice for months so we'll be needing much room for it and I figured the SUV would be just perfect.

Mahina lamang ang pagpapatakbo ko.

Madeo is sitting on the passenger seat with a gun on his right hand while Julian and Melina peeps through the windows on the backseat.

Yung isang baril at mga gamit ng pulis na dati ay duguan, nilinisan ng dalawang lalaki at ngayon ay nakalatag lang sa backseat.

Julian was my father's sidekick whenever he goes for hunting at sabi niya alam niya daw paano gumamit ng baril.

Airguns and real pistols are for sure different when it comes to handling kaya kahit sinabi pa ni Julian na tinuruan siya ni Papa sa tamang paggamit ng totoong baril, hindi ko parin magawang ipagkatiwala dito ang isang baril.

Madeo was once enlisted and had his military training so I got no problem with him wielding a gun. He may not be the best shooter as what he have said but just having a bit of knowledge with guns is already enough for me.

All of us were silent for the whole drive. Kanya kanya lang kami ng tingin sa labas ng sasakyan. May iilang zombies kaming nadaanan kanina na pagala-gala sa kalsada. Sinubukan ng mga itong humabol sa truck kaya kinailangan kong bilisan ang pagpapatakbo.

I did lose them by doing so but I had to slow down again when we finally reach the road with scattered corpses.

Then I remembered my parents.

"Binaril sina Mama at Papa diba?" I asked as I glance at the rear mirror to see Julian.

Saglit itong napatingin sa akin.

I saw a glimpse of sadness in his eyes but he immediately blink it off before turning his gaze back to the window.

"Oo" Tanging sagot nito. I swallowed the lump in my throat and did my best to suppress myself from quavering before I asked again.

"Nasaan ang mga katawan nila?"

"I'm not sure Ate. Pumasok na ako agad sa sasakyan nang nagkagulo na. I closed my eyes for a bit to relax myself coz I was sobbing uncontrollably pero pagmulat ko, wala na sila at paalis na din iyong ambulansiya. Kinuha siguro ng mga medic."

Tanging pagtango lang ang naging tugon ko.

I think it was better that way and I believe Julian also thinks the same. I'm sure they're supposedly to be taken to the hospital or a morgue but even if they didn't reach their destination, it's still fine.

At least magkasama sila sa loob at hindi sila matutulad sa mga bangkay dito sa daan na nagugulongan ng sasakyan ko.

"May mga zombies sa pinakadulo." Madeo stated as he stretched his neck up to get a better view at the end of the piled cars.

Sa tingin ko'y nasa higit kumulang tatlong daang metro ang haba ng mga nakapile na sasakyan at nasa pinakadulo nito nagpapagala-gala ang mga zombie.

The distance made it hard for us to see clearly how many are there of them but I think we are far enough to move and get done with it before they could even get to us.

We've already planned everything before we started the drive so things should work just fine.

Melina and Julian are responsible for hooking and unhooking the tow strap, I'm gonna be the one driving the truck that's gonna tow the cars out of my SUV's way and Madeo's gonna be our lookout and slayer for any zombie hiding behind those cars that would get too close.
