Chapter 10

Mag-aalas kuwatro na ng hapon and we're already driving now to Vandana. Nakabuntot lamang sina Madeo sa likod namin.

All the stuff that the guys have taken from the convenience store were divided to the SUV and the truck.

The little drama I had with Hax a while ago didn't last for too long dahil maya-maya lang ay dumating na si Julian kasama ang sugatang si Melina.

There were two zombies that came out from the convenience store's storage and comfort room and one of them was able to scratch her.

They immediately killed the zombies afterwards but Melina seemed a little traumatized with what has happened so I had to tend to her first before I was able to tend to my own wound.

Madeo and Julian went back to the store and started moving the stuffs to the trucks but I can no longer see that excitement and happiness on Julian's face.

I know he's worried of Melina.

Kahit ako man ay nag-alala din sa naging reaksiyon nito sa nangyari. Hindi ito nagsasalita noong una at tahimik lamang na umiiyak. Tinatahan ko naman ito habang nililinisan ang kanyang sugat. Ilang sandali lang ay tumigil na din ito sa kakaiyak ngunit nanatili paring tahimik hanggang sa dumating ang Kuya niya.

Hindi ko alam kung okay na ba siya ngayon kasama si Madeo.

Si Julian naman dito, kanina pa tahimik habang kumakain ng ice cream. Sumasagot naman pag kinakausap pero matamlay.

Hax is nestling at the backseat with his wrapped hand placed on his stomach. I'm not good at treating injuries since I never really had a proper training of it.

I've only watched on YouTube once on how to properly wrap a sprained hand or foot with a compression bandage and I don't think I did it exactly as how it was shown there so I just let Hax do the judgement.

Sabi naman ni Hax okay na daw yun kaya hindi na ako nakatatlong ulit sa pagbalot ng paa niya. Sa kamay niya kasi, nakatatlo talaga ako eh dahil hindi sakto yung higpit ng mga nauna kong pagbalot.

Mukhang natatawa na nga ito sa akin kanina noong kamay niya pa yung binabalot ko pero binalewala ko lang. Aminado din naman kasi akong hindi ako marunong.

I was actually expecting him to tell me a little story about him earlier since I've told him about my parents but he didn't say anything kaya hindi nalang din ako nagtanong.

"Ate"

Agad akong napalingon kay Julian.

"Diba sa mga zombie apocalypse na palabas, nawawalan ng kuryente ang lugar. Bakit dito, may kuryente parin?"

He asked but his eyes stayed on the road in front.

I've actually thought about that too after Madeo have successfully refueled using those fuel dispensers.

"I don't know Jun. May mga signal pa nga din diba? These are the things the movies didn't get right. Maswerte parin tayo kahit papaano." Sagot ko at tinignan si Julian ng nakangiti.

He also smiled but it didn't reach his eyes.

"I don't think electricity and water supply will last for too long. Unless this outbreak finishes early then we won't reach that point of total blackout. Yung sa palabas kasi, mabilis ang takbo ng storya kaya dumadating agad sa point na sira na ang buong lugar kaya nawawala iyong supply ng tubig, kuryente o di kaya nawawala yung signal. They bomb the whole place and it destroys the power stations or cell towers. A very common scenario. It's always been like that, things in movies has to be exaggerated or else it won't be that thrilling and entertaining to people." Hax stated.
