It was crowded and the atmosphere smelled of alcohol, marijuana and different types of perfumes and colognes, mixing together. We followed James to a booth that was for 4 people but we managed to fit all 7 of us. I watched the people on the dance floor. They all had their own moves and followed their own rhythm while dancing, not caring about the music. It was intriguing.
"I wanna dance" I shouted over the loud music,
Everyone looked at me weird. Their plan was to come to the club 'illegally' and that's all. No Drinking, No Smoking and No Dancing. No Risk Taking. Well, not me. I climbed over Alex who was sitting next to me and blocking my way out of the booth. As soon as I was standing I grabbed his hand and pulled him to the dance floor. If anyone would agree to dance it would be him. I turned around and looked at his amused expression.
"What?" I asked,
"You are random" he grinned.
I grinned back as I started to dance. I must admit I'm not the best dancer. This became apparent as Alex started to laugh at me. I hit his arm and whined,
"Stop laughing at me".
He laughed more but took my hand and spun me around,
"Let me help you with your left feet" he shouted.
He started to teach me how to dance without tripping over my own feet. Reminded me of that dance scene in the Footloose when they were dancing at the club with all the country folk. 'If This Is It' by Huey Lewis and the News started to play. This was such a great song! I grabbed Alex's hands and started to spin us around. He was laughing his head off.
"Star!" he shouted as I let go and kept spinning by myself,
I was having so much fun I didn't realise I was spinning to the other side of the dance floor until I spun into someone. I stopped and tried to hold myself upright as I apologised to the person. Before the man could say anything I felt Alex pull me away by my waist as we headed back to our side of the dance floor.
"You okay?" he asked, glancing towards the man and then back at me.
"Yeah. My fault" I shrugged, still a bit dizzy from all my spinning.
He looked down at me a grinned,
"What am I to do with you?".
"Dance" I grinned back,
And that's what we did. We danced and danced until we couldn't dance anymore. By that, I mean until the others dragged our asses out of the club.
It was about 1:30 am, meaning it was Sunday. Half of us had to be going to church while the rest would just sleep the whole day.
"My Ma is gonna kill me when she finds out how late I have been out" Nala whined,
"Well if you keep whining like that maybe she'll hear you" hissed Vera.
That shut up Nala. However, Alex and I were still hyped up from the club. Maybe it was all that marijuana smoke we kept inhaling. There was a lot of people smoking inside that club. I was running down the street in between everyone, screaming, while Alex chased me. I may have teased him about his height and he didn't take it very lightly.
"Come back, Stella!!" he yelled,
I screamed as he got closer and ran to my brother. Except Zander didn't help much, instead he slapped me on the back.
"Ow! Zander, What the fu-" I whined, only to be cut off by Vera.
"If you guys keep screaming and yelling then someone is gonna come out and tell our parents that we ain't home" she hissed.
