My girlfriend of 4 years, (Y/N), had to move to New York for school and we haven't seen each other face to face in 8 months and right now tomorrow is Paddy's Day. She always loved doing goofy Irish things with me on Paddy's Day.

"I wish I could be with you in Ireland for Paddy's Day. On the bright side, I only have 3 months left of school" She says to me on the phone. I then get an Idea, "Umm... Gotta go, sweetheart. Love ya" I say "Ok. Love you too" she says. I rush to my laptop to buy a plane ticket.
Your friends are on the phone Now it's so close to Paddy's Day And it kills you not to be there But life got in the way If I have to break the bank Spend every penny on your dreams
As I get off my plane and head to the road to catch my Uber, to (Y/N)'s apartment complex, I think to myself "I can't wait to see the look on her face". I soon arrive at her apartment complex, I pay the Uber driver and grab my 2 bags and get into the elevator and press the button for the 15th floor. As I leave the elevator I start looking for apartment 736 to surprise her.

I knock on the door and wait, 5 seconds later (Y/N) opens the door. She gasped and ran into my arms as I hugged her.

"Well Sweetheart, you said ya wish you could go back to Ireland but instead Ireland came to you" I said with a smirk. "Let's go to sleep and in the morning you'll see what I have planned, love"

In the morning, I wake (Y/N) up and I take her to a breakfast place I saw on my way here. After we finished, we went on the subway to the Hudson River. "Brian? Why are we on the Subway?" "Well Love, just pretend that this is the Luas line, where we first met"
And we'll travel on the subway Like it was the Luas line Change the Hudson to the Liffey Where we kissed for the first time Turn the city into Dublin Yeah, wherever we may be
After we reached the Hudson River I said "Now, instead of the Hudson, picture that it's the Liffey, where we shared our first kiss" (Y/N) just looked at me and said "Brian, you're the best boyfriend a girl could ask for" after that we hugged, I told her to close her eyes.

I then get down on one knee, grab the box from my back pocket and say, "You can open your eyes, sweetheart"

She looked at me and gasped

Now, I'm not asking for you to give it back, I'm asking if you'll give me your heart, and your hand in marriage. So will you marry me?" I ask opening the box to reveal an Emerald and Gold ring.
