He Was My Everything [Shrek x Gordon Ramsay]

Gordon lays in bed reminiscing about all the time he and Shrek have spent together since Highschool. He fidgets with the ring in his hand. It's silver with tree branch designs engraved around a single diamond. It glitters in the light as Gordon twists it around in his fingers.

He lets out a sigh, and heaves himself out of bed, putting on a white jacket and jeans ripped at the knees before he heads out the door.

Crunch crunch crunch.

Gordon steps on broken leaves and branches as he makes his way towards the swamp. Shrek's swamp. He fiddles with the ring in his pocket, keeping it hidden incase Shrek sees him approaching.

Gordon dusts off his shoes on the welcome mat of Shrek's newly built house. It featured a small garden in front of a massive and welcoming front porch. Gordon considers knocking, but he decided not to, as he might wake Shrek. He bends down and carefully lifts up the welcome mat, revealing the spare key. He sets the mat back down and gingerly places the key in the door.

Just as Gordon has suspected, all of the lights in the house are off, and the hallways are quiet. Gordon takes the ring out of his pocket and steps quietly towards Shrek's bedroom.

Dim light escapes through the crevices in Shrek's slightly ajar door. As Gordon creeps closer, he can hear muffled voices coming from within. He presses his ear to the door.

"That'll do, donkeh. That'll do."

Gordon gasps and covers his mouth. He pushes open the door to reveal Donkey straddling Shrek.

Shrek's eyes widen as he realizes who is at his door. "Gordon! I-it's not what it looks like!"

Gordon's vision blurs as tears begin to fill his eye. "Shrek?" he softly queries.

Shrek shoves Donkey off of him and makes his way toward Gordon. "Gordon? Don't cry. It's okay, I can explain, I can—"

But Gordon was already leaving. He drops his ring on the floor, not caring about the money he spent on it, and runs through the forest, crying.
