With Aureus home, and Nascha asleep on Adira's bed, again. The Wolf and the Shark debated.

"How come, little Miss 'I'm a Hoot', can know our secret, and yet Aureus couldn't?"

Adira rolled her eyes, and sat on the couch, "I... I don't know, okay? I'm usually extremely sure of myself, but since Nascha and Aureus came around." She paused, and took a breath to steady herself. "Everything's been off, and, felt rushed. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way, too."

Keir paused, but nodded. Every action he made has felt rushed, and almost like it wasn't him.

...

Aureus entered his home, and aimed for his room, but ended up on the couch anyways. Footsteps raced down the stairs, and Dhara meet him with a hug. Which was akward, because he was halfway laying on the couch. Yet, he just hugged her back.

It was a very cute family bonding moment, until she started to giggle. "You've got a boyfriend, don't you Aureus?"

He heated up and gently pushed her to the other side of the couch, "no! He's a friend! I promise. I just fainted, um, no food at all that day. And, he didn't know where our house was, so I spent one day there."

Dhara shrugged, "I don't really care, I'm just really fuckin' glad your back, you stupid child."

Aureus placed a heavy hand on his left-middle chest, a sarcastic gasp, "I'm not a stupid child, you are!"

Which, of course, started an entire water-food fight, anything you can really get your hands on in the living room. Ending with both of them laughing their asses off, plopping down to watch a movie after taking showers to get rid of the goop.

...

Aureus arrived at school sickly, and hurting from something of which he couldn't point out to anyone. Not even himself.

Keir and Adira didn't show up to school either, but Nascha did. Yet, she looked so distraught and un-focused, that he knew he wasn't going to get any information from her, either.

At the end of the day, he walked his sister home, then headed straight for Keir and Adira's house. They couldn't scare him away, if that's what they were trying to do.

What if they hated him, though? He thought, stopping in his tracks. Aureus turned on his heel, and started walking back. If they hated him, that's why they didn't go to school. That'd also be why Nascha avoided him.

Wait, why wasn't Tauriel at school either? Or Ian? Were they in on this too?

Aureus needed answers, and he needed them before he drove himself over the brink of insanity.

It took at least a thirty minute walk, full of him constantly doubting himself. He even walked one-fourth of the way back, but insisted he needed answers.

...

He twisted the last corner, which blocked the house entirely with trees. He opened his mouth to yell at them, but it dropped.

In the houses place was rubble and ash. It didn't look like it had affected the trees around it, but itself was devastated. Not even the picture frames were still there. Like all of the furniture and toys burnt to a crisp as well.

The only thing standing was a beam near the edge, and an owl sat on top of it, and 'who''d at him.
