"Guess what! Guess what! Guess what!" Meghan exclaims, running up to me after school ended.
"What? What happened?" I ask. Meghan has been my best friend since kindergarten, and she always seems to have a new piece of gossip to share.
"So, you know how Ed Sheeran is coming to town next week..." She starts, then smiles.
"No. I'm not going to another concert with you, especially when a British guy is involved," I groan.
Last year, Meghan dragged me to all of the One Direction dates within a fifty-mile radius. I waited in lines, crushed between Meghan and some girl that was hyperventilating for more than six hours, trying to get meet and greet passes. Then, when we got to the front of the line, this bald security guard told us that we couldn't see the boys because they were "rehearsing". Ever since then I have been afraid of going to concerts with Meghan, especially when they involve anyone foreign; I'm not wasting another weekend.
"I know, but you like Ed!" She nudges me and I keep my eyes on the floor, not giving in. "Oh please, I saw you jamming out to 'You Need Me, I Don't Need You' like two days ago!"
I huff. She is right; I did like Ed, a lot. He is living his dream and gets to perform everyday in front of people that actually cared about what he has to say, and that is all I want. "Anyway, what about Ed?" I ask.
Meghan smiles really big. "You know how 98.7 is running a contest for meet and greet passes? Yeah, I might have skipped last period to call and try to win... And won."
"What?! Are you kidding me!?" I exclaim and pull her into a hug. "I'm so happy for you!"
"Oh, wait, I'm not done yet. They are giving me two passes, and since I put you through so much shit trying to meet One Direction I decided that it's only right to take you!" She shoots me this look.
My heart dropped. "What? Yo-you don't have to, these are your passes and you should do whatever you want with them," I stuttered.
"I am doing what I want with them, and I want to meet Ed Sheeran with you," she replied.
My stomach somersaulted just thinking about it. I am going to meet Ed Sheeran. "Are you sure?" I asked.
"Of course! I wanna take you! Besides, maybe you can ask him how to get famous," Meghan smirked.

"I'm about to leave to pick you up. Don't tell me you're just waking up now," read a text message from Meghan on the morning of the long awaited meet and greet. It was eight o'clock in the morning and I have been up since six! I could barely sleep all night; all I could think about was the fact that I am going to meet my idol today!
For one final time, I looked up at my reflection in the big mirror in my bathroom. My shoulder-length brown hair was straightened, but it was still so frizzy! My hair was naturally a curly, frizzy mess, and no matter what I did it would always turn into a frizz ball.
I tried to look decent today; wearing a floral skirt with a sweater and my combat boots—pretending I didn't search Tumblr for hours trying to figure out what to wear. Meghan will look fabulous, like she always does, but today I'm not okay with being the ugly one out of us two like I usually am.
The doorbell rang, and I sprang up and ran downstairs. My mom was probably working and my dad was probably at some golf outing, so I was home alone.
"Are you ready?" Meghan squealed when I opened the door.
"I hope so," I sighed and grabbed my purse off of the table next to the door.
Once we started driving, her nervous chatter started.
