"Mentioned by @edsheeran: I hope you had a lovely time @ccollins11..." said the latest Twitter notification on my phone. It was near the end of the school day, and Meghan and I were in science class. We just took a test, and I had my phone out on my desk even though I wasn't technically allowed to. Meghan looked up when she saw my phone light up, and her eyes got wide.

"Look at your phone," she whispered to me.

"No talking until everyone is done, Ms. Smith," our teacher said. She was sitting all the way in the front of the room, but the room was so quiet that even her ancient ears could hear Meghan.

Meghan sighed and reached for her notebook that was next to her on the table, than ripped off a corner from one of the pages. I looked at her confused, but than she started to write something. A second later there was a little piece of paper in front of me. She was passing me notes? What, were we in third grade? I chuckled but opened the tiny piece of paper anyway.

"Check your phone. I think Ed just tweeted you." The note said. My eyes got wide and I reached for my phone. Class was almost over, anyway, and it was our senior year; no one cares.

I slowly grabbed my phone, making sure that the teacher wasn't looking, and pulled it under our table. My heart was going a million miles an hour, and it might just be a tweet! As fast as I could, I opened up Twitter and tried to get to my notifications tab. How did he even find my Twitter? My notifications were going crazy! The tweets were saying things like "@edsheeran @ccollins11 ilysm" and "@edsheeran @ccollins11 whats going on here", so I'm guessing Ed did mention me. I went onto his page and saw that his latest tweet said, "I hope you had a lovely time @ccollins11 looking, forward to seeing you at the Louisville show".

The bell rang, and all of the other people in our class were getting up and starting to leave school. "If you aren't done with the test than you have to stay until you finish," the teacher yelled over everyone's chattering, but we all started to walk out. I grabbed all my stuff from our table and darted out the door.

"What happened?" Meghan asked as soon as we got outside.

"Nothing, he just tweeted me," I replied. I was trying not to act too excited; I'm not a fangirl anymore, I am actually working with him professionally.

"That's not nothing! He has, like, five million followers!" She exclaimed. "What did he say?"

"Just that he is looking forward to seeing me at the Louisville show, and that he hopes that we had a good time last night," I shrugged.

"Speaking of Louisville, I'm surprised that you're at school today after telling Mrs. Collins about his offer. She usually doesn't let you within fifty miles of a boy, and you want to go off to a mysterious city with a famous rock star that's older than us," she postulated.

"Yeah, I haven't exactly talked to her about that yet," I mumbled.

"Cassidy! The show is in less then a week! You have to tell her," Meghan yelled and burst out laughing.

We had then reached the part of the hallway where the large front doors stood, and you started to be trampled out the doors. There were always some big guys (usually football players) that think that getting out the doors requires shoving everyone in sight, as if they get a prize for taking the most people down. I sighed, and started to fight my way out. After a minute of struggling, I finally made my way through a big crowd of freshmen and was out in the natural sunlight. Meghan wasn't beside me, but I saw her in the distance walking through a chattering pack of sophomores.

I couldn't wait to get out of this town; everyone here was born and raised here, and had no plans of leaving. My mom was included in that group. She was born ten miles from where I was born! No one went anywhere here, and didn't have a problem with staying put their whole life; but I wasn't one of them. If I look around the crowds of people that were clustered around the entrance to school, probably eighty percent of them will stay in Michigan their whole lives, growing up to have their parent's life. They will work at Ford, G.M., or Delphi, and have kids that go to the same schools that they went to, and I just didn't want that. I've asked my mom about dropping out and actually trying to do something, but she always just laughs, or tells me that I shouldn't even think about that, but I really want to do something different and exciting with my life!
