Chapter 10

 Kelsey's POV

"What time is it?'' Daire whispered in my ears. "I am tired and hungry.''

We were still seated, arms slouching and our faces looking drowsily as ever. Groaning and sighing as more and more questions are interrogated and as Jason's mother takes a very long time to fully respond to them.

I rubbed my eyes and yawned louder than I intended to. "It is now going to 2:00 in the next twenty minutes.'' I checked my watch.

Daire gasped. "We've been here since ten in the morning. My throat is parched and my belly is making embarrassing noises. You always have an energy bar inside of your purse. At least share with those who are in need.'' Her eyes twinkled and was fill with hope.

I searched my bag, hoping that I placed a bar inside but exhaled when there wasn't even one bar in sight. "We were in such a rush this morning that I forgot to pack one.'' I moaned.

She did a long and loud sigh of unhappiness. Daire turned her face and squinted her small eyes, fixating them on something that I have yet not noticed. "Hey who are those guys?'' I followed the direction to where her thin finger is pointing.

I saw two figures, each of them dressed in a mask and a black outfit. They were getting closer to where we all are gathered. Both of them were holding large guns but one of them had it already aimed and was ready to shoot.

"Guards!" I screeched, shocked to know how loud my voice sounded even though I had lack of energy.

The person who had the gun raised wasted no time in shooting. Bullets were flying everywhere and the people were trying to run to a safer place. The Square was in an uproar with all of the hustle. The guards were trying their best to at least get one bullet launched into the two persons flesh, but failed.

They were dressed in bullet proofed outfits and it surely worked like a charm. Daire, the Queen and I were panicking, didn't know what to do.

"Come on let's get you into the Limos where it's safe.'' One of the guards told us.

A deafening cry was made when we were half way down the podium. We looked back and saw the Queen on the floor, bleeding from her head. She looked unconsious and that's when the guns stopped aiming and the bullets stopped firing. Guards rushed to King Henry's wife's side along with Daire and followed by me.

"Lift her and carry her to the car now!" One of them shrieked, he looked like the leader. They picked her up and her face and hair was stained with sticky blood. She looked lifeless and that was what scared me the most.

"Princess it is not safe here let's go in the car.'' Another guard told me, tugging on my arm but I wasn't moving. I couldn't.

Behind the mask of the person who was the only one shooting, I saw a pair of fearful, brown, familiar eyes. The person stared back at me, maybe realizing that I knew who was hiding behind the mask. Beside him I saw his partner who never once raised the gun nor shot one bullet. She looked like a girl because of how she shaped and her breasts that were poking out.
