The Unwilling Return of Ithilwen Greenleaf

Chapter 1

12 Months Later

"How close is the pack?" Thorin asked. "Too close. A couple leagues, no more. But thats not the worst of it." he explained running to the group. "Have the wargs picked up our scent?" Dwalin asked. "No but they will in do time." he answered by this time everyone crowded around him. "They didn't see you right?" Ithilwen asked. Everyone looked up at her holding her shoulder. He paused a bit, "They saw you!" she whisper yelled. "Shh Erayas your gonna give us away." Fili shushed. "I *coughs a couple of times* whisper yelled." she reasoned.

"No they didn't." he answered again. Gandalf then said something that related to I told you so. Every dwarf started to talk over him, until finally Bilbo got there attention again.

"I am trying to tell you that there is something else out there." he said pointing to where he came. "What form did it take?" the wizard's voice serious. "Like a bear?"

"Ye-Yes only bigger, much bigger." he answered a little surprised. "You knew about this beast?" Bofur a little betrayed and suspicious now. "I say we double back." "And be run down by a pack of orcs not likely." Thorin said. There is a house" the wizard said turning back to the dwarves. "It's not far from here, we shall take refuge there."

"Could Erayas make it." Fili asked. "She still hasn't healed from her injury." Kili reminded. She put her hand on each of the brothers shoulders. "I'm fine, I can make it." she smiled. When she took her hand off of Fili's clothes blood was on them. Both brothers exchanged looks then they glanced at there friend. 

"Whose house?" Thorin asked rolling his head as if it was an obvious question. "Friend or foe?"

"Neither. He will help us or he will kill us."he answered. 

"What choice do we have?" he asked. A howl resounded through the dawn . "That's your answer." the elven princess said starting to run. They ran through rivers and plains as Gandalf urged them on. When the house was in view Ithilwen collapsed and started coughing.

Thorin saw this and helped her to her feet. "C'mon that creature is almost upon us!" he yelled. Nodding she began to run again. She saw her friends trying to open the door but they didn't see the latch. There uncle yelled at them to open it but they still didn't see the latch. Sighing in fustration she lifted the latch up. The flooded in but the beasts thudding footfalls were not far behind.

Everyone pushed on the door so the beast couldn't get in but it's snout was in between the two doors. Finally they shut it, as everyone sighed in relief. "What is that?" Ori asked.

"That is our host?" everyone turned to see if the wizard had turned in a nazgul but he didn't. "His name is Beorn." he explained. "And he's a skin changer." Gandalf went on explaining the differences from man and bear.

Dori was whimpering but Ithilwen didn't hear any of it because she passed out. "Erayas!" Fili yelled. Everyone turned just in time to see that she was about to fall. Whoever was closest to her tried to set her down gently but she was too heavy Fili and Kili helped lower her to the ground "Gandalf what's wrong with her?" Filli asked. "She is just tired." he answered. "Or bleeding herself to death." Thorin retorted. "Fili, Kili bandage that wound again." he ordered. They nodded and did as told while the other dwarves turned around or went to a different part of the barn.

Time Skip

When she awoke next she saw that it was morning and she found her dwarf companions gone. She got up and put her tunic back on. Going to the front she saw her companions. "What is going on here?"

"Where waiting for GandalfS signal?" Ori answered. "Signal for what?" she asked going outside. "Wait, wait." they protested but she ignored them and went out. "And this is Erayas our human companion." the wizard said as his plan now fully back fired on him. Soon the dwarves with Nori's bad timing spoiled his plan. Beorn seemed about ready to kill them all until Thorin came out.
