*Reiki's POV*
Location: Meteor City
Population: More than I can count.
Words can't describe how horrible this place is. Total junkyard that just seems to grow with every day that passes. There always seems to be a new pile of broken cars, tattered clothing, torn up chairs, general trash; you name it, it's there.
People from other cities come in the dead of the night to dump stuff that they don't want, and that includes people.
That's right, an actual human being can be dumped here if they were not wanted; or if they need to disappear. It's no secret that anybody that lives here has no record in the real world. If you were to ask for any of us, it would show that we don't exist.
I'm pretty sure that's how I ended up here. I don't remember anything from my past, only my name and age.
So, to sound completely ridiculous: my name is Reiki and I'm 8 years old. I've lived in Meteor City for the past 3 years.
As stated, I don't remember my life prior to this. It's like every single aspect was erased from my memory.
Even though this place is horrible, that's only in the location aspect. I consider myself lucky to have found a good group of friends; strike that, a good group of family.
In fact, we had a saying among us "Thinner than water, and yet thicker than blood."
We weren't born into a family; we created our own. And because of that, we watched out for each other. Far better than anybody.
We are one of the bigger groups in Meteor City. Including myself, there was Chrollo, Uvogin, Nobunaga, Pakunoda, Machi, Feitan, and Franklin.
Since there were more of us, we needed a bigger fortress.
Franklin and Uvogin were able to secure us a decent size 'house', if it can even be called that.
It was more of a shack. There were no bedrooms or bathrooms. It was just a giant room that we used for our sleeping space. Usually, there was a small fire right in the middle to keep us warm during the winter (which we are currently in). There were several makeshift beds that laid around it, comprised of endless blankets and ripped up mattresses.
Since Machi and I were the smallest, we shared one of the bigger mattresses. The others had their own. This didn't bother either of us in the slightest. In fact, Machi and I enjoyed the additional warmth that we often gave each other.
"Alright, today is a Recon mission."
All of us sat on our beds, except Chrollo. He stood in the middle of the circle, where the fire would normally be. Unfortunately, we had run out of wood for the fire, and we were also low on our food supplies.
"We're going to separate into two groups: one will get the wood and the others will go raid the other camps for food."
The snow outside was falling hard, and the chilling wind was only getting stronger. All of us were covered head to toe in multiple layers of clothes. Well, except Uvogin. The guy hated wearing any kind of layers, said it made him hot and sweaty.
He opted to just wear his usual white wifebeater, black shorts, and chunky boots.
Uvo wasn't the only one with a strange fashion sense. I always had to wear black sunglasses and a beanie. It didn't matter if the weather was hot, cold, rainy, windy, or decent; the beanie and sunglasses always stayed on.
It wasn't that I didn't know how to change or cloth myself. This served a purpose.
See, I have a special power.
