Dwight D.Eisenhower High School.October 2007.Kyle,Mackenzie and Hayley are all walking down the hall together.The song "Fluorescent Adolescent"by Arctic Monkeys plays in the background.They are also other students walking in the hallway but they pay the three absolutely zero attention.They are moving in slo mo.It appears as if they're in their own little world.
"Losers!"said a girl as the three teens are continuing to walk.They all stop in front of Mackenzie's locker.
"You know what I hate?"asked Mackenzie
"Reality Shows?"asked Hayley
"Pop music?"asked Kyle
"Present Bush?"asked Hayley
"True"answered Mackenzie.The three friends spot Alison walking down the hallway.While Mackenzie looks absolutely thrilled to see her cousin,however Hayley looks completely shocked and horrified.She attempts not to be seen and hides behind Mackenzie.Alison comes up to Mackenzie,Kyle and Hayley.Alison is also holding the instrument she plays in the band which is the clarinet
"Hey cuz"greeted Mackenzie.
"Glad to see you here".
"Oh wait before I forget this is another friend of mine Kyle".
"Hey Kyle"said Alison greeting Kyle.
"Hey"said Alison greeting Kyle.
"Where's your other friend Hayley?"asked Alison
Mackenzie notices that Hayley's hiding behind her
"Oh here she is!"said Mackenzie discovering that Hayley's behind her.
"Hayley what were you doing back there?,were trying to hide from her or something!"asked Mackenzie jokingly.Hayley nervously laughs.
Dwight D.Eisenhower High School Cafeteria
Everyone is once again scrambling for a place to sit.And once again Kyle,Mackenzie and Hayley are once again all sitting at their table.This time Alison is joining them.Hayley is drinking a blue Fanta.Alison has her clarinet in its case and it's under her seat.
"So you guys formed your own little group of outcast of the school called "The All American Rejects?""asked Alison.
"Yep,now it's just me,Kyle and Hayley but we're open to take more social rejects"explained Mackenzie.
"Hey can I join,I'm pretty unpopular and have no friends?"asked Alison.
"Sure!"answered Mackenzie enthusiastically.This frightens Hayley because she know awkwardness will arise.Another guy appears at the table.
"Did somebody say group of outcast?"asked the guy 17-year old Brandon Daniels.He's wearing wearing a gray shirt,jeans and a beanie.
"Who's this"asked Mackenzie
"Oh this is Brandon,he's in my band class and he's in a.v club"explained Alison.
"Oh area you a fellow outcast?"asked Hayley
"I'm in band class and a.v club and I hate anything or anyone everybody else likes or follow ...I'm obviously a jock or the homecoming king"answered Brandon sarcastically.
"Sassy I like that!"complimented Mackenzie.
"You know after school we're planning a little get together on the football field after school day".
"Be there?"
"Sure,not like I have football practice or pretty blonde cheerleader to go out with this afternoon"answered Brandon sarcastically.
"Ok!"said Mackenzie.
"We'll see you then".Brandon gives off a slight smile.
October 22,2007
Kyle,Mackenzie,Alison,Hayley and Brandon are all sitting on the bleachers next to the football field.Before the teenagers are seen behind the bleachers is seen and we hear Kyle and Brandon having a conversation.
"Wow you really do that to yourself?"asked Brandon shock that a guy would engage in self harm.
"Yep sometimes I cut myself to relieve the pain"answered Kyle.After a couple of seconds of panning the teenagers are now seen sitting on the bleachers.
"This isn't something I'd expect for a guy to do, I thought girls did that just for attention"said Brandon
"Hey!"said Alison,Mackenzie,and Hayley together in unison un offense.
"Oh like you chicks don't do that!"responded Brandon.Brandon shows Kyle,Alison,Mackenzie and Hayley a cigarette burn mark on his arm.
"What's that?!"asked Kyle looking at Brandon's arm.
"This is what you get from my dad when you show up at home late"answered Brandon
"You should see what he does to my mom when dinner's late".
"Oh my god!"exclaimed Alison in shock
"But enough about me,let's move on"said Brandon attempting to change the topic.The Five teenagers all take a look at football practice which is currently going on.
"Look at them"said Hayley
"Why are people so wrapped up in unimportant crap blissfully distant and uninterested in what's happening around them?"asked Mackenzie
"Here we go again"said Hayley
"No I'm serious the world could be ending and the only thing that would be on people's minds would be "what's on tv tonight?"or they could be dancing and singing along the newest pop trash hit even though they'll never be able to experience those things again"defended Mackenzie
There is a moment of silence between Kyle,Brandon,Hayley and Alison.They are all pondering Mackenzie's words.There a couple of more moments of silence.
"Looks like I got you guys to do the impossible,Think"said Mackenzie breaking the silence.
"So Hayley can I come by your house one day after school?"asked Alison.It is evident she's trying to get close to Hayley.
"Oh um...."said Hayley.Mackenzie looks at her wondering what her answer will be.after a few moments of awkwardness Hayley answers
"Sure"said Hayley reluctantly.Thus excites Alison.
"Thank you!"said Alison ecstatically.Alison proceeds to hug Hayley.Mackenzie looks on happily because she is glad to see her friend get along with her cousin.Hayley is not happy about this at all.The only thing she could think about this moment is getting as far away from Alison as possible
