We were at Henry Avery's house. I couldn't believe it. The big man's house was right in front of us. I just wish it wasn't with Rafe and his dummies.
I bit my bottom lip as Rafe pushed us both towards the large doors. Nadine was watching us. Well, she was probably watching me. I wouldn't blame her. If somebody would have done the same amount of damage that I did to her, I'd be watching them like a hawk too.
'Come on, Nathan. Help us. This is not going to be well,' I thought to myself, looking out.
Rafe pushed us in. I knew he wanted to get to it before Nathan. I had a feeling in my gut, that Nathan was going to take Rafe by surprise. I just knew it. Rafe closed the door behind us.
As much as I wanted to smile, I didn't. Why? I could hear gunshots and explosions. I knew that meant Nathan was nearby. I knew Sam could hear them. I didn't listen to Sam and Rafe. I was bothered by listening to the gunshots. I acted like I was just daydreaming.
Then there was no gunshots or anything.
"Nadine! Go see what's going on," Rafe ordered, "Where the hell were those gunshots going from!" Nadine groaned and ordered more men to go where the shooting was coming from.
I'm guessing Elena came back. There's no way that Nathan would have survived if he was alone. Somebody must have seen him and saved him. Nobody would have been able to survive that fall.
Next thing I knew, there was shooting from inside the house. I was surprised when I heard a grenade. Rafe and Sam heard it too. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole world could hear the grenade.
I watched Sam as he dropped his lighter, but I knew he was making it a clue for Nathan to find. He looked at me and winked. I winked back and smiled. Our faces went straight before Rafe or Nadine looked at us.
Nadine was bitching at Rafe most of the time now. It was kind of funny. If I wasn't good at keeping my laughter in, I know for a fact that I'd be dead.
I noticed we left footprints behind us. I didn't say anything. Sam basically was pushed to be in the front, then Rafe, and then Nadine, then finally me. Rafe grabbed my arm and shoved me to Sam, "Just so I know that you're not leaving any clues for Nathan." I nodded quietly. I knew I couldn't do anything to leave Nathan any clues. He's a smart guy, so I knew he'd be able to find us.
We kept hearing explosions. I was going to say something, but then Rafe cut in. "What the hell is going on?! Nadine, are your guys blowing shit up just for the hell of it?!" Rafe yelled at her.
Nadine gave a death glare, "My men would only be blowing things up if the other Drake were near them." Rafe turned to look at Sam's and my back. I had a feeling he was staring at my ass, and it wasn't a comfortable feeling.
I don't think anybody knew this, but Rafe and I used to be good friends. He was a year younger than me. In fact... we dated when I was a senior and he was a junior, and Elena was a freshman. Thankfully, he hasn't said anything about that, but I had a feeling it would come up soon.
